Margarida surpassed my expectations

Living/Dining Room Design I originally found Margarida of Chic Decor through HomeStars and was impressed by all the wonderful reviews she had received. I now understand why reviewers are so generous with their comments; Margarida went above and beyond my expectations in terms of commitment, reliability and of course the end result which is fabulous.

After living more years than I care to admit with mostly second hand furniture or old and very tired pieces that I had bought, I asked Margarida to design the spaces in my living and dining rooms. Although I had originally thought I wanted one particular style, Margarida was astute enough to recognize that the spaces and my own taste lent themselves to a different style than I had originally anticipated and that's what we happily went with. She helped me choose everything from furniture to wall paper; paint colours and lighting fixtures to accessories. I was happy at the different options that she presented but also with the fact that she would willinging give her opinion when I was indecisive. Quite frankly, if I had to do it over again I would let her make all the decisions as she has a real eye for it and can visualize how everything will play together. The result, as I mentioned is spectacular. I now have a living room and dining room that I feel proud to entertain in. Many thanks to Margarida for giving that to me.

Chic Decor was Superb

Paint Colour and Design Consultation My experience with Chic Décor was amazing. This is the first time that I have used a consultant and it was definitely worth it. The colours that Margarida chose for our home are warm, inviting and add flow to the house. Her keen eye is able to pick out the subtle characteristics of the permanent fixtures of the room and blend them together with the paint colour. Not only did Margarida consult on the paint colour, but as we moved from room to room, she made an abundance of suggestions about all aspects which were invaluable. I will definitely have her back to continue to make our house into a real home!!

Very Practical and elegant ideas

New home renovation consultation Even though our move to a new house was overwhelming, Margarida gave us several practical ideas to bring it all together and make the house look elegant. She is professional, It was a pleasure to work with her, I recommend her services.

Living Room / Dining Room Margarida was wonderful helping us pull together the draperies,furniture recovering and final touches to give us the elegant look we were trying to achieve in our living/dining rooms. She has a beautiful sense of style and colour and made a lot of great recommendations. We are very very happy with our final choices and have received many compliments. She was very patient through our sometimes long decision making process and we really appreciated all the follow up calls which helped to move the project along very smoothly and efficiently. Get the look you want with the best designer in town!!

House Decorating Margarida is an excellent interior designer and has helped us tremendously!! We just purchased a brand new home and decided that we would hire an interior designer to help us achieve the look we want without making any mistakes. We are soo happy we found Margarida. She started off by helping with paint colours for the whole house and we are very very happy with her selections. She is very honest and will tell you if something does not work in your house and we really appreciate her honesty. We are slowly starting to decorate each room in our house and Margarida has been helping us with picture selections, what furniture to buy , carpets etc .. we are very grateful to have her take away stress from our lives and help us live in a beautifully decorated home. She comes very highly recommended by us and will continue to use her services.

As of now April 2008, We have now furnished our living room, family room, kitchen, baby's room and computer loft completely and it looks absolutely beautiful. We get many compliments from all our family and friends who have come to visit us. Our current project now includes the powder room, the master bedroom and window coverings. We are very happy with Margarida's consultation and we will continue with her services until our home is complete.

Margarida is great!

House renovation We asked Margarida to help with renovating the house we just bought. Margarida was very professional and thoughtful and also really cared to make sure we are happy with the outcome of the work. The colors she picked for all rooms were beautiful and corresponded to the way we envisioned the space. Floor plan that was put together by Margarida worked perfectly once furniture that she helped us to choose was delivered. Every design decision that Margarida helped us with turned out to be a great choice. I highly recommend Chic Décor.

Margarida was Marvelous

Main Floor Redesign We initially had Margarida come in to help with paint colour. Her perfect colour sense and professionalism inspired our trust and as a result we ended up asking her to work on the whole first floor: living, dining, family & powder room, foyer as well as flooring and a child's bedroom for the 2nd floor.
Margarida achieved a balance between being sensitive to pieces I wanted to keep but was brutally honest about what had to go in order to obtain the look and feel we wanted for our home.
It was no surprise to find out she graduated top of her Interior Design program. She was able to create rooms that were chic as well as comfortable and inviting. Throughout the redecorating process I received follow-up calls after major decisions to ensure that I was comfortable and satisfied with both the decision itself and the process. Margarida was sensitive to my time limitations and knew when to put things on hold while still moving the overall project along.
In the end we have a home which we love to spend time in and are pleased to share with friends and family.

Loved working with Margarida

Exterior design Margarida was great at helping us choose colours and landscape design for the exterior of our house. After spending a good amount of time understanding what we were looking for, she made great recommendations dealing with colours and landscaping which have all been incorporated into our final design. We're looking forward to working further with Margarida as we now focus on updating the inside of our house.

Interior Design Margarida from Chic Decor was very helpful in suggesting new design ideas for my kitchen. We also discussed furniture placement for my family room.
