Too expensive - respond“HD kitchens are so over priced compared to competitors. I know people who have paid upwards of 100K there. Also, granite prices are higher than competitors. It is also very difficult to get help. Especially on Saturdays. Rona and Lowe's are better options” |

Solid professional job - respond“We had chosen Madawaska Doors for a particular wooden door model we wanted installed for our front door to replace the old creaky ugly version. We also needed the "transom" to be part of the installation - that's the little window above the door. The price was a little higher than we'd like, but with an older home like ours, the installation quality and guarantee are essential. I also didn't much care for them asking for 100% of the purchase price up front. There was some delay on scheduling the install date, but not nearly as long as we had feared. In the end we are very satisfied with a solid job. The installers were friendly and professional. Madawaska Doors gets props for a great product, also.” |

What A Disappointment - respond“Home Depot's thermofoil cabinet product is defective- the faces of the cabinet doors and drawers keep lifting off the backing. We were told the thermofoil was "baked on" and had a 10 year warranty. That has been reduced to 5 years. We were told that the glue was defective but some doors have now been replaced three times- it appears the glue continues to be defective! It also took the HD contractor 4 tries to get the laminate counter top right-- each time the template was off by a few inches.... This has been an exercise in frustration.” |

Summer Flowers - respond“As with other purchases throughout the year, my time in this store was neutral. Hard to find things and if it was not for the staff, good luck. I found what I came for, and that was it!” |

Home Depot Consistently Poor Service - respond“We recently completed a complete renovation of the main floor of our home including Kitchen, bedrooms and living/dining room. In the process we replaced our hardwood floors and undertook the installation ourselves. We rented a hardwood flooring air nailer from Home Depot for this. After completing the rental agreement and paying, the salesperson told us that they didn't have any of the nails required. He went to "double-check" that there were none in the store and returned with the bad news that there were not. He told us that he had checked and there were none available at any other nearby locations. So we drove to a Rona location half-way across town and picked some up. The next day we returned to this Home Depot for something else, and while passing the Fasteners aisle happened to notice a shelf full of hardwood nails. It was obvious based on the dust on the boxes and shelf around them that these had been there for quite some time. And they were half the price of the ones from Rona. So drove half-way across town and paid double the price because the Home Depot salesperson was either too lazy or too incompetent to actually find the nails. I suppose we could have checked ourselves...but it's really frustrating to get service this poor when you spend so much money at a place.” |

Do Not Trust The Home Depot For Any Of Your Renovation Needs!! - respond“If you value your home as much as I do, please Do Not Trust The Home Depot!!! I just had my roof replaced not too long ago and the job was an absolute disaster. For one, they left the job site a complete mess. My eaves troughs were filled to the top with roofing debris. Even after countless complaints, they still did not clean them. I had a private eaves trough cleaning company come in to clear them out and the worst happened...They informed me of the huge hole left on my roof!!! Absurd! Not only was there a hole big enough to look into the attic, but there were areas where the old shingle layers were left on. All I have to say is terrible work and mediocre service. Only opted to go with them for great financing options. After this incident, I have heard many other horror stories from The Home Depot. My advice to any homeowner who reads this is: Do Not Trust The Home Depot For Any Of Your Renovation Needs!! You'll regret it.” |
