    Misleading and rude

    Ordered furniture in October 2020, and was guaranteed it would arrive at the beginning of February. Actual delivery date was the end of March 2021. Had nowhere to sit for two months after moving to new house (didn't own any furniture). Expressed my concerns but the store manager, Scott, simply didn't care. Told me that the two month delay was normal and that the sales person should have told us about this beforehand. I would have ordered my furniture two months earlier if this delay was known. I visited the store in August 2020 and was told it would be a good time to order in October to get delivery on time for early February. Feel very mislead. I was also told that getting price adjustments for Black Friday & Boxing Day sales would be just a simple phone call. In reality it was like pulling teeth. Would not recommend La-Z-Boy Barrie to anyone.

    Living room Furniture

    Bought a living room set couch and 2 chairs 1 reclining 1 with an auto man. This was on a 2 year 0% interest deal. Its not 0% interest as there is a buy down of about $650. I no this going in and OK with it. About 10 months in I notice that I am getting charged interest. This is my fault for not checking my bill. In that time they charged me about $800 in interest. I called the financing company (TD Financial Services) and they informed me I was late on a payment and they automatically take me off the promotion I paid for and put me at a 29.9% interest rate. Keep in mind this is after I paid the interest for the entire promotion. They would not agree to repay they interest to me but did agree to reset the promotion to 0%. So after about 5 more months I check my balance to find again they had been charging me interest and never reset the 0% promotion. Again this is my fault for not checking my statement sooner. I promptly paid the account off in full. Called TD again and they agreed to refund me this time and I would have a check in 8-10 business days. That was almost a month ago. So again I called today and they are not sure why a check was not issued. I am glad I have the means to get away from underhanded company's with back door policy's that put consumers with less knowledge in very bad positions while large banks get away with amounts to corporate larceny. Spoke to the store Manger and he told me it has nothing to do with them. Not true in my opinion. As far as the furniture goes I am somewhat disappointing with the sofa and the none reclining chair its not wearing very well for less than 2 years old. The leather recliner is holding up great.

    Shocking service.

    Bought sofa and live seat, salesman talked us into a more expensive one, on interest free credit. Not a problem, we liked the furniture. It arrived on time, but one of the motors that power the recliner didn't work and some of the stitching on the front was pulled and all gathered up. Service eventually got us a new motor(after I declined an old one) And fixed the gathering in the fabric. One of the recliner seats would not go back down after use, I was told this is normal if there is something stuck. There wasn't anything g stuck. After a couple of visits I was shown how to punch, yes punch, with both fists, the seat back into position. This is also apparently normal after every use. My son fixed it for me with just a minor adjustment. The stitching came undone in two places, after months of being ignore they finally came and fixed it. It looks OK, but you can tell it's been fixed. I will never buy from them again, the quality is not good, the aftersales service is terrible and the service guy is a patronising incompetent. Never ever, use the Barrie Store.

    Recliner/Rocker

    Amanda was a fabulous sales consultant. The customer service horrible. We bought this chair for support for my problem back. It seemed fine in store but once I was sitting in it for an hour or so my seat was numb and my back aching. Also the stitching seems shoddy and probably won't last long. when I contacted the Service Manager Andrea she said if I had called sooner they could have taken it back for the floor. I deliberately waited a month to ensure it was the chair and not just my adjustment period. She did send someone to look at it but in the end said there was nothing they could do. She ended with if I had any issues in 6 months or so to give her a call. Really!!!! I can go to most companies and return an item I am unhappy with anything from beds to clothing to appliances I feel abused, over charged and mislead. So much for their reputation of service and quality.

    Sectional, recliner, paintings

    When we went to pick up the recliner the delivery driver hit our suv in the pick up area. The store manager was less than helpful and when we came back with a quote for repairs for the damages to our suv he was terrible to deal with. When our sectional finally arrived (which we had help from their designers!) it was far to small for the space and we had to order another piece to add to it and wait longer for its arrival. In short: terrible service, terrible advice/design and wouldn't shop there again.

    Bought Furniture

    Bought a couch, 2 love seats and 2 chairs. The first batch was late. When they did deliver they were late again with some of the other pieces. They had to bring a service man to fix one of the chairs as it wasnt working poperly. We decided we didn't like one of the couches after a week and they said they would exchange it. They promised the exchange would happen within a week or so. Two months later we go back in and they had forgotten all about it. Didnt know they had made the deal so we had to start all over again. They set a delivery date and they didnt deliver because they came early and no one was there. So I got mad and called the VP and doesnt get back to me for 2 days. He said take the delivery or leave it. I told him the customer service was terrible so he made the concession. I wanted it in writing and he still after a week hasn't written me back by email. The concession he made was giving me $200 off and not pay for an additional 6 months but still havent seen this in writing. I'll just pay them off and be done with them forever.

    Purchased 3 piece set for living room

    We dealt with multiple La-z-boy outlets in the GTA and either they misrepresented to us about availability of the product we wanted so they could see us floor models. Or they tried to over charge us. We called the Barrie store because we are moving there and they gave us the best price no questions and the color we wanted.

    Sofa

    We found the sales assistant objective, knowledgeable and helpful. Their products have filled out home beautifully.
