Janice Lindsay was knowledgeable and friendly
“Janice had been recommended to me by one of my hairdressers clients. She came from Toronto to Ancaster, in a snow storm, to help me figure out the colours for my new house. I knew the colours that I wanted to use (white, grey, red, orange, pink) but was somewhat leary of just going ahead and painting my 3,000 sq. ft. home. If I messed up, it would cost me a bundle to repaint. Janice asked a lot of questions and wandered around the house until she had a good feel for what I wanted. Then we went from room to room and picked colours that enhanced each other and the particular room (a more sedate colour for the master bedroom, a vivid orange kitchen, a totally cool stiped wall by the front door). Janice was here most of the day, and even got my kid's involved with picking the colours for their rooms (it was a snow day after all). All in all it was a great experience for me. I must admit that I was exhausted by the end of the session. Who would have thought that picking out wall colour would be so tiring! I would recommend Janice to anyone. She was fun, knowledgeable, had a sense of humour, put up with my kids, picked the right white (there are soooo many!) and didn't cancel because of a little (lot) of snow. My house looks fabulous and if I ever move and have to paint again, I will definitely call on Janice to help me with the colours”

Beyond Colour
“We called Janice when we decided to freshen up the colours in our home. In one quick visit not only did we find colours we loved and that worked with our existing furnishings Janice helped us to design three sets of bookshelves to solve our book situation and introduced new lighting ideas that have made the spaces seem open and big. I loved Janice's open way of getting right to the point about what works and what we needed lose. We loved what she did for house in the city we hired her for a day to help with a country property. Her advice has been flawless and on budget. I would not hesitate to recommend her. ”

More than just colours
“Before renovating our basement, kitchen and bathroom, we called Janice for a one-time consultation to help us decide on finishes. She went way beyond that and in four hours actually designed our kitchen layout to include the peninsula I wanted (that the millworker said would not fit) as well as making recommendations for the whole house. Our house is now 3/4 finished and we are so happy with all the advice Janice gave, from painting the vestibule in the front door area, to changing our accent wall, to moving furniture, to ideas for wall art, etc. She has been the best part of the renovation as the contractor has been a nightmare, but that's another review for another day...”

“After moving in to a new condo, and changing decorating styles I was overwhelmed by choosing appropriate paint colours for my now very modern space. I consulted with Janice Lindsay of Pink, who came highly recommended. Janice listened to my rambling about the atmosphere I wanted to create in the space and translated it all into a combination of bold/subtle colour choices. Her choices work well with the light in the rooms, warming up what could otherwise be a very cold space. Her splashes of bold colour in surprising places (like my red kitchen ceiling) very much reflect my personality and lifestyle. I could not have arrived at my new colour palette on my own - Janice is a gem!”

Janice was a joy!
“We called Pink to help us get over a few creative roadblocks we encountered while decorating our home. The call was primarily a colour consultation, but ended up being an overall inspirational design experience. Janice Lindsay is truly a gifted artist. Her sense of colour and space is brilliant. She was able to quickly assess our tastes and provide us with design advice that truly reflected our personalities. The consultation went way beyond colour: she provided suggestions for fixtures, furniture, art and accessories along with paint chips, product info, and resources including contact names and numbers. Although our consultation was intially booked for only the living room, we were so impressed with her vision that we invited her to continue on to our kitchen, our basement and to the exterior of the house. In one short visit she solved all our design dilemmas. We would highly recommend her to anyone!”
