Rafina Hardwood Floors was established in 2001 as an offshoot of our family owned business involved in the hardwood lumber industry. When my grandfather began his business, he understood the importance of exceptional product and exemplary service.
Our three generations in the hardwood lumber industry have enabled us to develop strategic relationships with sawmills, brokers and flooring manufacturers across the U.S. and Canada. This gives us the edge in providing quality flooring at competitive prices.
My grandfather’s ideals continue to be the mainstay of our business philosophy today. From a high quality product to expert installation and finishing, Rafina hardwood floors has established a reputation for outstanding product, expert craftsmanship and attentive service.
Some of our commercial projects include The Gladstone Hotel, The Pickel Barrel, Wayne Gretzky's Restaurant, The King Edward Hotel and Second City Comedy Club.

“Rafina did a fantastic job installing 4 inch white oak flooring in our 80 year old home. They had the difficult task of levelling seriously uneven areas. The outcome is wonderful. Frank is a very skilled installer who takes pride in his workmanship. David recommended a wonderful stain colour which looks just beautiful. Thanks for your great service David. Rafina Does Condos
“We had a flood in our condo this past summary (the filter for our 130 gallon aquarium blew a gasket) and the floors in our hallway, living room and dining were under water for 5 hours. Needless to say, the engineered hardwood that Rafina had put down not 3 years ago was completely ruined. We called David and he quickly sized the situation up and gave us an estimate for the insurance company. The work entailed removing the ruined floor (including a portion that was originally installed by the builder), leveling the concrete (which entailed grinding off the glue that the original floor was held in place with) and then putting down a new cork barrier and finally the new floor and quarter-round. The new floor looks as good as the original and unless you've heard the story, you would never guess that it had been replaced. Thanks David for making our home a home again!”

Rafina Rocks
“We just purchased our first home and decided to remove the carpet and get the floors refinished. I read about Rafina on Homestars and decided to call them. David promptly made an appointment to come over. He was friendly, courteous, personable, and seemed as excited about the new floors as we did! We needed them done before we moved in and despite knowing what all the tv shows say about having contracts, etc., we trusted David from day one and arranged everything verbally and on a handshake. David was helpful in picking the stain (we opted for Rosewood bringing us a sample to look at and helping us decide the finish. His workers showed up as promised and let themselves in and out with no problems. The house was left clean and neat each day. David called often to give me updates. When we got to peek in at the colour I emailed David to say how happy we were. David emailed back, "it only gets better from here." And he was right. The floors are beautiful. I would not hesitate to recommend David. The floors have made our new home a showpiece. Thanks also to Nick for the trim - looks great (please note: the trim was kind of hellish as the baseboards were set higher than normal so required some hunting for quarter round!). If you go with David at Rafina you won't be disappointed. Rafina rocks!”

“This was one really messy job - re-doing a disastrous hardwood job done by another contractor. It meant - ripping out the badly done floor, re-laying and finishing the hardwood, plus a lot of patch work on parquet flooring also messed up by the other trade. It was a nightmare job - tight space, fully finished walls, house already post-construction cleaned. And to top things off - the previous guy lied about the finish which led to challenges getting the finish coats to match. They showed up when they promised, worked efficiently, and kept the mess to an unbelievable minimum. And they did not leave until we got the right finish - which ended up being custom mixed. But to end it off - we have a beautiful, non-squeaky floor at last! I am happy to recommend them to others.”

“Thank you Dominic for your kind words about our company. I think besides all the reasons Dominic mentioned, he left out one important thing. He called me 5 days before Christmas - which everyone knows in construction as vacation time and asked if we could start to sand and finish his house 2 days before the holiday because he was moving into his house the following week. Well to make a long story short we started 2 days after the holiday and finished before New Years and he moved in 3 days later and the floors look great. Let me know when it will be on City TV.”

“We did our homework and were very impressed with what we saw of Rafina's work, so had no hesitation in going with them for the floors in our renovation. David and his crew installed beautiful quarter cut oak floors and didn't even flinch when we asked for a difficult-to-apply custom stain. They pulled it off without a hitch and it looks terrific. Later, after our (not so perfect) painters left us with a spotty problem on our beautiful new floors, Rafina came back and spent more than a day touching up the floors for us. The floors are a proud feature in our home and a proud testament to David & crew.”
