Top Quality is the LEAST experienced BEWARE! - respond

“They were hired to refinish and install. The home had existing hardwood in the dining room and living room. The kitchen adjoining to the dining room was to have the matching floor installed and then stained and varnished to match and "flow" with the dining room. And also new hardwood installed in the basement and again stained to match. They firstly installed in the kitchen a floor which was finished red oak. The dining room however was and is white oak. Then they proceeded to install white maple in the basement. At first we thought after they told us, that it would match and there would be no issues. Then began the staining. The chosen color was to be a deep walnut commonly known as "Ebony". Which is a deep almost black brown. Picture mahogany without the red. At their request we vacated the home while they stained. Upon our return we found they stained the floors BLACK. Not partial or light black but absolute JET black. After many discussions it was agreed upon that they would start over. They thus sanded it all down again and further purchased more stain and began staining again. This time the finish was yet again BLACK. But this time it looked horrible. Patchy, streaky and had foot prints and hand marks in it. Pictures are attached. They then chose to sand again. At this point we called in the help of other professionals. We were then told that these people were not hardwood people. The machines they used to sand were not even appropriate for hardwood. They were in fact used for other purposes. Finally we found a qualified person who told us to just tell them to leave, and they would fix all mistakes. Top Quality began this job December 10th, it was to be done by Friday the 14th. They were removed from the home today the 18th. The new group has told us to repair and finish they will be done Friday. So 3 days versus Top Quality's 7. After this is all said and done the owner refuses to reimburse us for the troubles. They were given $2000 for the job and caused close to $2500 in damages and refuse to pay back the money they have taken. So PLEASE consumers BEWARE, they are very poorly trained installers and flooring people. When the proper hardwood tools were rented they were unaware of what they even were. Please if your seeking a flooring crew look elsewhere. Please view the pictures I have added to show the disgraceful way they left this home. Thank you.”
