“Ordered laminate floor. Promised to have it in store for pick up 2 days later 10 days later, after I went to their store to check times, the product is still not in. Nobody has called me to have an update or appologize.”

Rona Is Expert In Home Renovation But Products Cost More Than Competitors - respond
“Over years we have been shopping at Rona for our home improvements needs. One time, we were looking for a piece of rubber mat to be placed under our washer/dryer set to reduce the machine vibration. The staff took the time to explain to us what options were available for our application. To our surprise, he also suggested that we try corrugated box first (a zero-cost solution), and if that didn’t work, we could then try something else. We really appreciated the staff’s honesty and his time to help us, and this is why we keep going back to Rona for their products and services. One the hand, Rona does charge a premium on their products. For example, recently we purchased a carbon monoxide detector from Rona for 31 dollars after 10% discount, only to find the same detector for 26 dollars at another place. Also, just the other day, we noticed that Rona increased their fireplace price by 10 dollars, which is a surprise to us since the Canadian dollar is so strong. We think Rona can do better by lowering their product price and maybe doing away with their long TV commercials which are cheesy at times.”

The Employee In The Paint Section Was Helpful. - respond
“When Rona first opened in Richmond, they had latex paint at really great prices but we didn't need it at the time so we asked an employee if we could buy the paint now and come back later to pick the colour when we needed it. He said sure and initialed our can so we could bring it back later. 6 months later, we decided to paint the kitchen so we took the paint back to Rona to have it tinted into a colour. Customer service wouldn't allow it at first, but luckily the same employee that helped us 6 months ago was there and he gave to okay. Good to know that a person sticks to his guns.”

“The laminate flooring company that we had chosen to have our floors installed by cancelled on us at the last moment due to "no available stock". We wanted our floors to be done before we moved into our condo, so we were left with only 2 weeks to decide or find someone else to do them. We went to our local Rona store, and the customer service rep helped us pick out the flooring, gave us a demo on how to install it, and when he realized that their store didn't have enough flooring, he found it at another Rona for us. We had purchased an extra 2 boxes and we were even able to return the extra for a full refund. Great service and helpful staff.”

Check For Stock Before You Go There - respond
“We purchased a Luxo Marble Glass Bathroom Vanity from Rona. It was an neat item and Rona seemed to be only place that carry it. However, as good as the concept was and Rona is know for carrying this kind of unique item. They do not have the proper support to carry this kind of item. The cabinet did not come with any necessary hardware, Rona who are the seller of product does not even carry the proper hardware . We have to run around town to find it. This Richmond location in particular has a inventory issue. I go there many times only to find empty shelf to the things I wanted. I would go to other Rona location before I got to this Richmond store. ”
