Household Windows and Patio Door

Brock Home Improvements is by far the very best company we have ever dealt with. From the initial phone call that was made to the company and until completion, we have been completely happy and extremely pleased. Our call was answered quickly and professionally. The salesman, Kevin was wonderful. He answered every question and concern with great care and without rushing. He explained the different products available and we felt we had a great package to look over when he left. We felt no pressure and were encouraged to get other quotes. We had all of windows and our patio door replaced. The installer, John came to our house and did all of the measurements and asked if we had any additional questions. Our windows came in earlier than expected and we were given the option to have them installed earlier than originally booked. John and his wife Beata were the team that installed the windows and door. They were courteous, they were prompt and they worked carefully, it was as if they were doing windows for their own home. They covered our floors with nice thick draw tarps and they cleaned and vacuumed as they went along Everything was immaculate when they were finished. We have never seen such attention to detail and such hard and efficient workers as John and Beata. They both worked equally hard and with great care. They were a pleasure to have at our home. We would and will recommend Brock to anyone that we know that is in need of a reputable, reasonably priced company with quality products to offer. The product that they installed in our home is NorthStar windows. Kevin explained that they are a Canadian Product with a transferrable life time warranty, which is an added bonus. We could not find another company that could come close to the professionalism, care and price. We are so pleased and grateful that Brock and their employees are so professional, conscientious and caring. We really cannot say enough about our home improvement from Brock Home Improvements.

replace sliding patio door

I am thrilled with my new patio door. Looks great. Received 2 quotes and Brock was the cheapest. The young man did a great job replacing my old patio door. I hope this one lasts as long as my last door which was 45 years. Hope it helps with the heating bill in the winter.

Brock Changed the front door and side door of my house and they also transformed my plain rectangular living room window to a beautiful bay window. That new window in the front had neighbours stopping and gazing as well as asking who did the windows.

My house had a huge rectangular window as the living room window in the very centre of the face of the house facing the road. This window was plain looking and it was time for a change. I contacted Brock and they came over and assisted me on my decisions in a professional manner on the style of the doors and the style of the windows. Brock employees were expert enough to realize that just by changing the height of the window by a slight bit compared to the original calaculations can make a huge difference. In my case it made for a more beautiful looking window and front. The employees of Brock, from sales people, to builders, were very pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and patient. I would like to say I have and will continue to recommend Brock to others.

Replaced 10 windows and install 1 new one in brick wall

Brock Windows replaced 9 windows 3 years ago. We were very happy with the windows and the process to completion. This year we are doing a kitchen renovation and went through the multiple quote process. We were surprised the competitors felt installing a new window in a brick wall would be so complicated and costly.Brock windows was very confident in the whole cutting the brick process. And did a great job installing the brick window sill, and capping finish around my new kitchen window.

Approximate cost of services:
$13,000.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
nothing
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
The cost of cutting a hole a brick wall was a fairly easy process and Brock had the proper equipment and experienced installers.

Update:Entrance doors and windows on top floor

Update:
It's May 2013 and the entrance doors have been replaced. A word of advice if you choose Brock, always complain to your salesperson, everyone else gave me the run around. It wasn't until I spoke with Kevin at Brock who sold us the doors and windows that something actually happened. He got Northern (the manufacturer) to contact me and we had them changed. Not the same door we paid for but it's all they wanted to do. I'm sure it's only because we said we are selling our house and will show our invoice to the buyer to prove these doors were only 5 years old but in such poor condition.

Thank you Kevin at Brock for making a mountain move, thank you Donna from Northern for your courtesy and attention, and thank you Steve the Installer for your humour and dooring a great job of installing and clean up after.

Would I choose Brock again? Hmm..only for windows (maybe).

Update on review from 2008.
It's been four years since we had our windows and entrance doors replaced by Brock. I wrote a review back then and gave a 10/10. We still love our windows and would recommend Brock to our friends but for windows ONLY.
We've had a bad experience with our entrance doors. They are black executive doors and we were warned about having black doors, that they would absorb heat and could weather in time. I wasn't worried about that much because we have large trees and the entrance has a shelter/is roof covered, it doesn't get much sun. I’ve seen other houses in our neighbourhood with dark coloured doors without any problems.
The issues we had were the panels separated from the door within a year and the door had to be replaced. Within two years, the weather stripping wore off and paint was chipping. I was disappointed with the issues that arose within two years of paying for these expensive doors. Thankfully those issues were fixed by Steve White at Northern Lights and Doors within a few months of contacting Brock. The paint chips are ugly and I was given a bottle of touch paint, which I think would only make it look worse.
Well, when I thought our doors would finally last for a long time, I noticed last year that the newer door panels shifted and people can notice a white border around them. I contacted Brock again and Steve from Northern Lights dropped by in May this year. He used a screw driver to shift the panels down, but because the doors were not painted black underneath the panels, the white paint would visibly show through even more. He took pictures, said I was no longer covered by warranty but he said he would talk to his boss and get back to me. I haven’t heard anything.
I lived in many houses growing up and never had issues with entrance doors, no paint chips, no shifting or separating panels, I really thought entrance doors last more than 10 years without issues.
Sadly, I would be very hesitant to purchase or recommend buying a door from Brock. Entrance doors were approx $5000.

Took us a month to decide which company to work with and we are so happy we chose Brock. Thanks to HomeStars.com, we feel the decision was the right one. We do have minor patch work that needs to be done on some walls but that was expected. Our windows are HUGE and lovely. Our new Entrance doors are gorgeous! We were happy with our salesperson, Kevin, and the installers, Derek and Brian. The timing of the installation worked well and they did a great job cleaning up. Can't believe how efficient these guys were! :D The happy couple in 'sauga.

Shop around, but definitely give Brock a chance. We met with Brock first and saw around 5 other companies, in the end Brock won our business for their quality and their honesty. Our project was a little over our budget but worth every penny. And expect to patch walls if you have an old house with old and funny molding/trim. Oh, and expect dust, lots of dust. :)

Home improvment, 1 sliding door & 2 bedroom windows

My wife and I finally accepted the fact that the doors and windows had to be done soon, so we started the dreaded search for the right people. We called in company after company and checked all the "big box stores" until we found what made us feel right. We ended up with Brock simply because they were the best all around from start to finish(as it turns out!). The sales rep was fantastic (especially compared to the rest) and we ended up replacing a hugh 8' by 6' patio door and 2 bedroom windows (for now). The installer "delivered" precisely what the salesman sold us and his workmanship ended up being exceptional, right down to the last detail. We will most definitely use Brock to complete the rest of our doors and windows when the time is right.
.....and for all you readers/consumers who like a clean job as I do; you'd barely even know Brock had been there (even though you can see them leave through your new windows) We're glad WE made "the right choice"

Windows and Doors

We decided to change all of the original windows and two doors in our 18 year old home as part of our eco-energy retrofit renovations. The representative from Brock was the only salesperson who encouraged me to research all of the actual performance ratings from the Energy Star (Natural Resources Canada) and CSA websites. The North Star windows offered by Brock are not only one of the most efficient windows on the market, but they also open, close and lock effortlessly. It’s also the only manufacturer that clearly lists all of the energy ratings for all window configurations and glazing options on its website, and more importantly, these ratings match the official Energy Star government ratings. The engineering department clearly had a large part in designing the website instead of the typical marketing department mumbo-jumbo. Once I decided to go with North Star windows, Brock was the obvious choice as their price was reasonable and they come highly recommend on this website. Brocks communication was good, the windows were delivered on time, and there were no errors in the shipment. I was especially impressed with the two man installation crew. They were polite, efficient, and tidy, and all of the windows and doors operate as smoothly as the showroom models. I couldn’t be happier with our decision, and would recommend Brock and North Star to all my friends and family.

Bay Window and Dining Room Window

From our initial visit from Bruce to the completion of the work, I did not experience anything but exemplary craftsmanship and courtesy .Bruce had by far the best presentation materials of any firm to come and deliver an overview and estimate. From job start to final clean-up, the installation crew, led by Jon,were courteous, competent, and left both the inside and outside work areas spotlessly clean. The finished product adds significantly to the appeal of our house.

Installation of windows and doors

I recently had the pleasure of dealing with Brock Home Improvements. From my first meeting with John Nolet, who provided excellent advice in regards to styles and pricing to the actual installation of my doors and windows by Rob and Mike I have nothing but high praise. The focus and attention to detail provided by all involved made my decision EASY to choose Brock Home Improvements.
Keep up the great work Brock Team, Thank You.

By the way, I have already recommended Brock to my neighbor who also noticed the "Great Work"
