Clarke Basement Systems

When our recently finished basement sprouted a mushroom, we thought we were doomed. Then, a friend recommended Clark Basement Systems to us. One of Clarke's representative's,Roy, came by and determined that the major flooding issue was the hot water tank. None of the other three contractors we had contacted had caught that issue, and, since the insurance covered the leaking tank, Roy saved us enormous costs for mould removal. Once the basement was bare again, we noted a few problems with the foundation. Clarke installed waterproofing for us at a cheaper price than the exterior water-proofing quotes we had been given. The work was done promptly in February (which wouldn't have been possible with exterior water-proofing), in the time promised, and with little disruption. When we sold our home, the fact that we had used Clarke was a significant bonus. The purchaser's realtor recognized Clarke and had in fact used them herself. We recently had a small issue in an area that hadn't been waterproofed. Roy once again came out and quickly determined that the issue was not the foundation but a small hole by the exterior door. Again, he saved us a lot of money in repair costs. I would highly recommend Clarke Basement Systems.

I had a basement flood in March of 2008. Water leaked into the floor of my foundation in the corner (where the concrete floor meets the concrete wall). The water also destroyed the basement apartment in my home. I called Clarke Basement systems, who sent in an engineer (who was also an expert in basement flooding) to assess my situation. The engineer, Emelio, assessed my basement, diagnosed the problem and came up with a solution. Emelio laid out the work that would need to be done to fix my problem. He also described the work that I could do myself to minimize the cost. I paid a $3,000 deposit for $16,000 of work. Next the work was scheduled.

Jose Martinez' crew did my basement work after I had prepared the basement by ripping out the finished (but damaged) walls and floors, exposing only the concrete. The work that Jose did was exactly as described by Emelio.

I paid the final bill of $13,000 after the work was done. I will be receiving a 10 year guarantee for the work done after my cheque has cleared.

We had a flooding basement. We bought this home and we did not know there was a hidden latent defect. A month later the entire basement got wiped out. Lot of contractors gave all sorts of quotes. Clarke Basement Systems was our pick. They came and did the job 1.5 years ago and so far we have not seen a drop of water. We have also finished the basement.

I called Clarke Basement to get some advice on my basement that had been flooding. Roy looked at the area & suggested I fix the hinges on a suspicious window that showed some water marks. He said "if that doesn't work, call me back & we'll look into this further". That friendly advice cost me nothing! I will use them & recommend them to everyone!

We found a crawl space filled with water after moving into our house. Clarke basements had a great solution - every employee we dealt with went above a beyond. Great company, great product!

Roy came in to assess where the source of mould was in our basement. He did not charge anything and was able to tell our contractor it was a small job that the contractor could easily do- not a foundation issue! I was really happy with the way he handled the whole thing..

The staff that came to the house worked very hard and were very nice and friendly. We ran into a problem where a water pipe was hit..they were very speedy in getting the water turned off and a plummber in to fix the pipe. It was a Friday and because of the error they had to stay much later then planned yet they were still very happy and friendly..they did a great job the basement has not flooded ever since they did thier work. My Mother is 85 yrs. old and the house she and I live in is 56 yrs. old. She has lived there all that time. Very nervous about repairs. Fionah, Graham and Mark, made her very satisfied and happy about the service. We are more than pleased we went with Fionah and will reccommend her highly.

After discovering a basement problem in a newly purchased house we researched contractors and basement waterproofing approaches. Roy came out, diagnosed the issue and came up with a comprehensive and technologically preferred solution. The work crew led by Jose was knowledgeable, thorough, neat and prefessional. After the work started, they uncovered and efficiently solved additional basement issues (i.e. mold, foundation crack) that, if not noticed or well solved, would have caused major problems in the future.
