Clarke Basement Systems

Clarke Basements and their representative, Roy Warren, have demonstrated quick, professional service when responding to my e-mail request for an estimate to waterproof the crawl space under our 1930's rental addition. My request was made mid December and mid January the work is complete. Before Roy came to do the estimate the company sent us a book about Crawl Space Science explaining issues with conventional crawl space construction and the science behind their solution. This gesture was well beyond my expectations.

As an architect, I have had my eye on the "Basement Systems" crawl space strategy for numerous years as it challenges the conventional approach of ventilating crawl spaces and promotes sealing the crawl space from the exterior instead. Our crawl space was ventilated and it suffered all the typical/ chronic problems associated crawl spaces under dwellings: ruined insulation, moisture and mold due to condensation.

The installation of the encapsulation system has been done with good quality materials and equipment by an efficient hardworking crew. They even did a thorough post completion clean up. Roy came back to do an inspection and personally fine tuned the new Smart Sump. Now we have a dry, clean, warm crawl space. According to our tenants, their home feels warm, dry and comfortable ... just in time for their new baby who is scheduled to arrive any day now.

The products this company provides are second to none. We had a leaky basement and mould problems. The work crew came when they said, worked hard all week and did an excellent job. Rob, Shane and Noel were the best work crew we have ever had. They put other contractors to shame. Rob is very particular and it showed in the work they did. All questions and concerns were addressed in a very professional manner. When the project was done it looked amazing. All the leaks were taken care of and the mould problems are gone. We also had the new flooring installed and it compliments the Zen wall perfectly. The crew was very conscious about cleaning up after themselves every day. Words cannot describe how happy we are with the products and especially the work crew that installed it all.

Moved into a house & discovered legacy of moist basement issues. Made decision that house was a keeper & wanted to invest in fixing it right. Did lots research. Chose to go with Clark basement systems. Signed on to do 40 ft of "WaterGuard" installation. I then added another 20 ft more for a total of 60 linear feet WaterGuard. They (Mark) always had a professional phone manner. Always called in advance to confirm appointments/attendance. Roy did a quote that had integrity & didn't change although it turned out that basement concrete floor was extra hard to jack-hammer out due to it was extra thick & "bonded concrete". Rob's team did work that was thorough & professional - albeit obviously back-breaking. Writing this report is the least I could do. On the humorous side, to my surprise, my ordering pizza for the work-team for lunch upset them as it was deemed to slow them down. What diligence! The only suggestion I might have for Clark basement systems: perhaps a bit more time spent on reviewing exterior water-flow & downspout situations as part of the "holistic solution". This work added to their repertoire of solutions would surely & simply help divert/prevent water flowing up against the house foundation... . Warm regards, R&J of Stouffville. P.S. The best part of using Clark Basement Systems... their solution involves removal & exposure of the basement foundation/walls/floor/foundation. This results in the owner knowing what's behind there, what are trouble areas ...and then removing any damaged/affected wood/drywall/insulation/ studs/etc.

A VERY HONEST COMPANY. We were concerned about a damp corner in the basement of our old house. Not only did Roy show up on time, he was upfront with us and said that it was so minor that it didn't necessarily warrant any work at this time, whereas, we had been quoted a range of prices by other companies (if they even showed up at all). It might need work in the future, but it doesn't right now. Clarke is very professional from the moment you call them (they automatically send references, call ahead to confirm ... ) and representatives as personable and knowledgeable as Roy made a distressing situation less so. We'll be sure to call them if we ever do need our basement repaired!

I had a seepage problem in my basement and called Clarke Basement Systems for my 3rd quote. The other companies wanted to dig up my backyard and driveway – a huge expense to repave, not to mention the mess. I had not heard of inside weeping tiles and was very impressed with the quality of their work and their professionalism. From the onset, Roy Warren was extremely informative and went out of his way to accommodate my all needs and concerns. Customer satisfaction was his prime concern. The crew had the work done very quickly, did an excellent job, and left no clean-up for me. Even the crew said if I had a concern or problem later, to please call them. A+ for him and the crew! The framers & drywallers who I hired afterward commented how impressed they were with the work. Clarke is an excellent company that really delivers what they promise!

Roy was a brilliant sales person, answering any and all questions I had about the system, and explained the entire process thoroughly. I was in a dire need to have the service performed immediately, and Roy made all of the necessary arrangements to accommodate me, as if I were their only customer. Their price was slightly higher than other quotes I'd received, but I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for, and it certainly applies in this case. Other companies that provided quotes for me, which will remain nameless (read: essentially EVERY other inside waterproofing contractor) were not nearly as professional, lacked presentations to reassure me that I was getting a quality product, and didn't really impress me like Clarke Basement Systems did. My basement no longer smells, and the dehumidifier takes approximately 3 days to fill, where it would only take about 8 hours before. When the basement is done, I'm sure this will improve even more. Very impressed, would recommend to anyone with a leaky basement.

The Basement waterproofing job finished professionally and on time.Jose and Fiona encountered and solved a problrm regarding a different type of Clean Space material to my satisfaction.In my opinion, Jose and Fiona have interpersonal skills,they communicate well with their clients. The clean up after the job was good.I am happy with the work done in my basement.

The problem was fixed in a timely manner. The service technician was very professional. Most important, I have not had a leak since. I would definately recommend your company to others.

my name is darlene i cannot tell u how impressed i was with clarke basements i called and they responded very quickly my basement had flooded i was beside myself, fiona came to the house explained everything clearly showed me samples of the products that could be used showed a vidio of how it would be repaired they also sent literature in the mail fiona was so pleasant and warm i had to hire them , the boys jose and aldo were very efficient polite and hard workers they did an excellent job putting in what i call trough and wall liner , best of all they cleaned up after their selves ,i would definetly reccomend clarke basement to any body that asked me so i thought i would share this with u .dar
