There is a reason why Brent is rated so high...
We hired Brent for an inspection based on the customer reviews. Thank you, Homestars, for leading us to him. He encouraged us to ask questions and had a lot of patience. We thought the house *looked* ok and of course Brent found unexpected issues which caught us off guard. Based on the issues (knob & tube, asbestos, leak, drainage, unsafe electrical panels, chimney being the main issues) and the repair costs involved ($30,000), my husband and I decided to walk away from the deal altogether. Brent was very thorough and no question was too small or too stupid. Unfortunately, there will not be a housewarming party for him to attend...at least this time around--but perhaps one day we'll have him inspect a house in Aruba for us (smile).

Thank you so much for the kind words and review! You know, at the end of this home inspection I felt awful. It was such a nice home, I know you loved it, but in the end, I think you made the right decision. To do all those expensive renovations, only to leave knob and tube wiring in the walls, have an unsafe electrical panel installed, ignore a wet basement, the whole thing just didn't add up. What's even worse is that the home owner knew of these problems and did not inform you. Why would they I guess, they were just looking to unload a poorly renovated home. Oh well, a bummer I know, but I couldn't keep this stuff a secret from you! Thanks again, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections! Yes please call me if you find a home in Aruba !
