Moving only 5Km across town

This company came highly recommended by my Real estate Agent. We booked the move for a 3 bedroom home, 3 movers for $90/hour.

They arrived at 9:30am, (but charged me from 9:15). We had most things already disassembled and boxed. The men were pleasant. They didn't damage anything, but keep in mind we moved all our own mirrors and pictures ourselves.

They were not as fast or efficient as I thought they could be. One man stayed mostly on the truck packing it and the other two men worked to bring the items to the truck. I thought more than once that they were just trying to drag out the day to get the most pay. Just my person opinion, but even my children commented on it several times.

I wasn't happy when they asked me to go buy them lunch, how could I say no when they had my personal possessions in their hands.

I wanted the job to speed up so I told them to only take the large items that would require 2 or more people to the basement. Just leave everything else in the garage. Plus not everything fit in the truck for a 3 bedroom home. We still had tons of stuff left in our garage and home. We've been making several van loads back and forth for days to bring what wouldn't fit in the moving van.

I wouldn't hire them again. The men were pleasant. They kept telling me that I'd save the tax if I paid cash, so don't use plastic like I did. I had to call back to get a receipt too.

Good Luck in choosing your mover.

Company Response

please keep in mind our men cannot rush moves in the winter due to icy conditions. You had a full 35 ft truck load of furniture and boxes. $1100 equals to 5.5 hours loading and 5.5 hours unloading which is standard for this truck size and 3 men. If im not mistaken you called a few days later and we refunded you a portion of your move because you were not satisfied.

a careful move requires time. rush jobs create damage.

To Francis Movers

It’s not often one receives more value than you paid for. On November 19th, your crew headed by Flip did an exceptional job in moving us from Scarborough to Stouffville. The move started on time, your staff were courteous, professional, and efficient. We finished the move in only six hours. Far less time than I had planned for.

I will recommend Francis Movers to all my friends and colleagues.

Thank you very much

Move

Great to work with them. Fast, cheap and helpful. They went out of their way to be helpful. They packed up a full house and unpacked it in 4 hours. I didnt love the mandatory 1 hour travel charge but thats life.

a home move to a storage unit and a subsequent move from storage to new home

Two movers instead of three showed up for the initial move; frequent calls (at least 5) to Francis eventually resulted in a third mover showing up two hours after the truck first arrived. The move from storage with my husband at the unit to watch the unloading and reloading indicated that there had been a lot of damage to furniture, probably by the movers who unloaded the truck to storage. A picture frame was shatterd, a large wardrobe had one side bent, velvet ottomans were creased from having pictures rest on them for a month, wood tables scratched, mirror end tables had one drawer on each table shattered. Picture frames nicked. All in all, a disaster that others need to be cautioned about if and when his name arises as a potential mover.

Company Response

In regards to this move we do appologize that we did not have sufficient manpower at the start of the move as one of our employees were sick. As for the damaged items its very tough for our movers to fit a large house into an innappropriately sized storage unit. Ofcourse if the storage is too small we will have to stack furniture ontop of one another at the customers discretion. Yes the velvet ottomans were stacked ontop of eachother but we had taken it for repair and the item was returned and fixed. I dont consider the job we have done for you being 0 out of 10.
