Window installation

We had a door in each of our children’s bedroom that led out to a common second floor deck. However, a year ago we had the deck removed because it was rotting and planned on replacing the doors with windows. And when our other contractor kept delaying the installation and eventually bailing on us last summer we didn’t know what to do. We had the two doors nailed shut and I started looking for someone new early this spring.

I feel very fortunate to have found Handyman Matters. This was one of the best renovation experiences we've had. Both Bruce and John were very professional and real gentlemen. Work was done in the spring so there was constant threat of rain. Bruce and John worked quickly on day one to remove the doors, frame the opening and get the windows in. They covered the outside with plastic to ensure it was weather resistant. John did an excellent job on the finishing of the windows both inside and out. He took great care to make the exterior match the old board and baton with the rest of the house. He also did an excellent job on the interior window casings and drywalling. All we have to do now is choose a paint colour! At the end of each day they left the site clean. We couldn't be happier with the finished product! We are looking forward to using them on our next project.

Replace Front Door and install new locks

I found myself needing Handyman Matters a second time in less than a month. This time it was to come and replace the front entry door to the 1st Floor apt in my Mom's Triplex in downtown Toronto. The front entry apt. door was damaged beyond repair due to a 'daylight' break-in which left my female tenant quite nervous. The professionalism, demeanor and expert workmanship was perform quicker than we all expected but most of all I can't believe how honest and reasonable Handyman Matters $$ for the repairs was. Because it's my nature I did price it out to 4 different companies and HandyMan Matters still came out to be $110 cheaper. This is the only company I would ever think to call. I would like to thank the Judy and Tanya at the Handyman Matters office and specifically point out the professional work of the Handyman, K.C. who was assigned for this repair. - Thank You!!! - LinaK, Thornhill, Ontario

Repair to 'popcorn' ceiling due to water damage

Handyman Matters was referred to us by J&S Plumbing who were first called to fix a leaking pipe that caused water damage on the popcorn ceiling in our family room. The female administrator at the Handyman Matters office was very helpful, professional and friendly which gave us a sense of comfort (and that’s very important to someone who’s not really sure in these circumstances). She was also very thorough in the way she explained how their company worked and how the job would be performed. The handyman who came to fix the popcorn ceiling quickly assessed the work, was very well organized and a seasoned expert at his job. When he finished the work – we couldn’t believe it but the ceiling looked as if nothing were ever wrong with it in the first place. (PS: I have to admit, Handyman guarantees all the work that they perform and the workmanship speaks for itself but they charge much lower than the two other companies I called <bonus>). We would definitely recommend Handyman Matters to everyone!

dishwasher repairs, bathroom/laundry fan, upgrading of fibreglass and plastic device

We have used Handyman Matters on two occasions so far for three different jobs. We are very impressed with how reliable, prompt and professional they are. They are very dependable and help out rain or shine (or snow!). They also go out of their way to make sure everything is according to their client's needs or requirements. Even if a project is a little unusual, they will work with you, think outside of the box for you, and make sure everything is done to your satisfaction. We give them our highest recommendation for their integrity, workmanship and professionalism.

Finishing a bathroom renovation.

I called Handyman Matters to finish off a bathroom renovation I had run out of time and energy to complete. The job consisted of the following:

- minor tile repair
- installing a vanity, sink and faucet
- baseboard trim

Handyman Matters assigned KC to perform the work. He arrived on time and did an excellent job. KC kept me in the loop every step of the way. He was friendly and professional.

I couldn't be happier with the results. The bathroom looks amazing.

Thank you KC and Handyman Matters.

Several small wiring tasks

Called Handyman Matters to help me install a ceiling fan properly and to move some switches from one wall to another. The fellow that they sent was a certified electrician so I was comfortable knowing that the job was being done properly and according to code.

Getting up in the attic (among the insulation) was a messy job so I was glad to have someone else do it for me. He even accompanied me to Home Depot (off the clock) to purchase the proper parts.

Although he was unable to solve one of the problems, I was very happy at the successes that we were able to achieve. I found that this was money well spent.

We recently used HandymanMatters on two separate occasions....one to trim two sets of French doors, the other to repair exterior masonry. The work done by Don and Paul was excellent, and they were punctual, courteous and professional. I will use them again, and would recommend them without reservation.
