Bathroom renovation

While shopping for items for a home renovation, every single home depot employee we coordinated made us feel very welcomed and assisted us in the best way possible.
William from the bathroom section went above and beyond in assisting us. He helped us select one of the best vanities and countertops for our bathroom. He was very well informed about the products and extended superior customer service at all times.
Roxana on the counter was also very supportive. She had a big smile on her face and was very kind and calm. She asked us if we needed help to load the items in the car and arranged for her colleague to help us load the items.
Staff in the paint section were very knowledgeable and helped us select the right type of paint.
All in all, we can never be any happier. We love Home Depot!

Dishwasher - delivery and install

Purchased a new dishwasher at Home Depot Richmond; good price, on sale. Then had to wait 2 weeks for delivery and installation. On the day of delivery, two technicians arrived and got the new dishwasher partially installed, but discovered our plumbing was too old and incompatible with the new machine. Unfortunately the two guys who were there were not "allowed" to do the plumbing part - I would have to call Home Depot and arrange for someone else to come do that part, and they would be able to finish the installation. his meant me having to take another day off work. I paid them up front for this additional service and then they left, neglecting to tell me that I couldn't use either the dishwasher or the kitchen sink to do dishes (which I discovered when I tried to hand-wash some dishes and ended up with water all over my floor). The next morning Home Depot called me to verify the additional charge; I asked when I could get the technician to come out to perform the plumbing task, and the woman was surprised, thinking it had already been done. She then supposedly booked a technician to come out "between 10 and 2." After 2pm came and went, I called and was told I was "next in line." Then 3pm - he was on his way; at 4pm I was told that the dispatcher couldn't reach him and didn't know where he was. He assured me that he would do his best to get someone to come out that day - it was a Friday, and I didn't want to go all weekend with no way to do dishes. Around 9pm, the SAME TWO GUYS from the day before showed up, plumbing part in hand. They were very efficient and in short order had the new valve installed and the dishwasher working, the very thing I had been told they were unable (not allowed) to do. So finally the dishwasher was in, and working, but it made me wonder why it couldn't have happened the day before. In short, can't recommend Home Depot as a place to buy a new appliance.

Fencing

Good work but bad service. My neighbour arranged everything but I never saw workers and they were so hard to get ahold of when i tried to call myself. Price was never very clear and they would try to throw in extra costs. Really had to negotiate. Not the cheapest. Had to get quotes from multiple other companies to prove their price was too high.

Gas Hot Water Tank

I went to Home Depot to ask them to change my gas hot water tank. They sent there contractor to change the old one. My wife is at home that day, and she noticed that thier is a big dent on the tank. She asked the guy not to install it because of the dent. The guy answered that it is normal to have a dent, anyway it's only outside the tank. My wife phoned me and told me about the dent and I said no, don't install it. So my wife insisted not to install the tank because we paid for a brand new tank not a dented one. That guy was not honest, trying to hide the dent, its good my wife saw it. We went to home depot the next morning and refunded the money back...

BBQ

We had excellent service at Home Depot, buying our BBQ. The service was excellent and a customer service rep even went out of their way to help us load the BBQ into our (small) car!

hardwood flooring

we shopped around at many floor suppliers and found that home depot offered us the best price during a home improvement sale for canadian manufactured maple hardwood flooring by dubeau. we were worried that the store would not carry the 2000 sq ft we required for our renovation project but the store flooring manager told us she can order the required amount from the supplier directly and make sure that the material would be from the same dye lot. we were very impressed with the personalized service, even at this big box store. the delivery charges are also extremely reasonable.

Upgrade toilet

We were wanting to reduce our water consumption and were looking for new low flow toilets. Home Depot had a great selection of low flow toilets and had lots of knowledgeable sales people available to answer questions. The also had applications on hand for a variety of municipal/city rebate programs for consumers. If the product we wanted was not in stock, they were very helpful to order it in a timely fashion. Prices were competitive and fair.

Kitchen Cabinets

I've recently did a kitchen renovation. Was very happy with their thermafoil products and quick and friendly service. I did not feel pressured or obligated to go through them after my quote. The job took approximately 3 full days to complete. They've also gave me advice on what type of hardware would look nice based on the rest of my house decor. I would recommend them to a friend.

Spray Paint

I visited this home depot after another one hoping to find some more knowledgeable help. I wasn't sure which product would be best to use as a base coat for the plastic I was working with.

There were several options at different price ranges. The rep working the department at the time was very helpful and had personal experience with the spray paints.

His feedback was very helpful and allowed me to identify which product to choose based off his anecdote.
