Undermount kitchen sink

My sink was coming away from the counter. Leaside Plumbing provided great customer service, coming the next day to re-mount it. Rick, Ali and Jonathan were all very professional and did an excellent job. I was particularly impressed with their high quality of workmanship and how neatly and cleanly they all worked.

Boiler repair, upgrade

When I learned that my boiler wasnt installed up to code (by another provider), I called Leaside Plumbing to see if they could help and Tom understood my issue right away. He was patient and answered my questions. He sent someone out right away to quote the work and further explain what would be required. When I was ready to get the work done, Tom made sure to accommodate my schedule and my needs (I have a 10 month old who naps twice during the day). Jonathan came on time and went right to work. He was kind to my son who wanted to wave and say hello. Jonathon explained the work to me, covered his shoes to keep my house clean, tidied the workspace and showed me the finished product. He took the time to explain how it all works. I feel like he genuinely cared about doing a good job. Tom and Jonathon were both honest about cost and time so I knew what to expect. Im really happy with the work and relieved that they were able to fix the problem so quickly.

Broken Bathtub Taps

I'm a single senior living in an old house with old plumbing. I was very weary of calling a plumber I didn't know.

Keith from Leaside Plumbing was amazing!

When he arrived to assess the job, almost immediately I felt I was in good hands.
He was kind, knowledgeable and professional.

He arrived right on time to do the job.
He diligently worked through the day.
My broken bathtub taps were fixed. Upon Keith's suggestion had main water and hotwater shut offs replaced.
Also replaced a section of plumbing that was dripping.

Then at no extra cost he replaced my washing machine water hoses (they were rubber and fittings were rusting).
Also fixed drain connection to kitchen sink.

I can tell from the work done was by a great professional who knows what he is doing.

Then to top it off, the final price for the job, was less than I had expected for the professional work done!!!! Very fair price!

I definitely will use Leaside Plumbing again.

I highly recommend to anyone - Leaside Plumbing !

Replacing clay pipes

I would stay far away from these guys. We were initially quoted $4k to replace clay pipes that were blocked. After digging one hole we were told the entire line is full of roots and needs replacing to the street. We were told 3 FULL days of work was needed and 2 more holes needed to be dug. It was explained that each hole was $4k and the estimate jumped to $12k! I am inexperienced and had no idea what the job entailed but after they made it sound like such a massive job and clearly we needed to flush our toilet we agreed. No more holes were dug and it was 2 half days of work! I believe they played off my inexperience and having no knowledge of to what this should have cost. After speaking to multiple people after the fact everyone said it should, have been a $4-$5 k job which initially was quoted. After asking for an itemized bill, one of the charges is $2,600 to fill the hole! I believe we were fully ripped off!

Amanda,

I'm sorry that you feel like you were taken advantage of, I can assure you that this is not what happened. As this is the first interaction you've had with us, I understand it may be difficult to build trust on first sight. Our main business growth comes from word of mouth referrals and years of trusting relationships as you can see from our reviews.

Just so you and anyone else reading this can understand the process, I would like to explain how these kind of jobs generally work. Every blocked drain call begins with a camera inspection where we locate the immediate problem, and the client is given a price for a "spot repair" to correct the blockage. Once the hole is dug and the entire drain line is now open and dry for inspection we perform another scope to look for any additional problems. In old drain systems it seems that there a 50 - 60% chance of multiple issues. The homeowner or representative is present and can see the roots or other issues on the screen for themselves. Next steps required and possible solutions are discussed with the homeowner which may include more excavation. At every stage of this process, we discuss pricing beforehand and only start work with the homeowners approval. We do not engage in high pressure sales tactics, however any work that is postponed would obviously become more costly once the crew, tools and equipment are no longer on the jobsite.

Most of our plumbing work is broken down as "time and materials" however, drain digs are unique and the industry as a whole only works on flat rate pricing. Based on our experience and feedback received from our customers, we are still very competitive in this market.

I hope this helps.

Leak under kitchen sink in middle of the night - water everywhere!

Found the kitchen floor covered in water when I got up in the night, around 4 am. Immediately googled emergency 24-hour plumbers, only to find that the five or six I tried did not in fact answer their phones. Because I grew up in Leaside, eventually decided to give Leaside Plumbing a try... success! The owner himself answered the phone, and committed to having someone at our house first thing during business hours - 9 am.

The plumber they sent, Keith, was great... he diagnosed the problem under the sink, and also fixed another problem with the water heater in the basement. We needed a new faucet, and he advised us to give him a call when we'd bought one, so he could arrange to come back and instal it. Fortunately we were able to get one within a couple of hours, and he came back toward the end of the day and installed it.

Can't recommend this company highly enough - from start to finish, and in the course of a few hours, they solved our problem as well as a potential future problem. Tom, the owner, was friendly and efficient (even though I'd awakened him in the middle of the night!), and Keith was knowledgeable, customer-oriented, and very pleasant to deal with.

Fixing A Gas Line

We discovered that the company who installed our gas furnace used an incorrect type of gas piping. Fortunately, it was not immediately dangerous, but it needed to be fixed quickly. We called around to several gas fitters, and found Leaside to be competitively priced and they could be over within 48 hours. The service person arrived on time, explained what needed to be done, did a clean job and was polite and pleasant. It was an excellent experience.

Great Job

We had a laundry tub replaced by Rick of Leaside Plumbing. He did a complete, professional job in a reasonable amount of time. Cost was very reasonable. He took the time to explain everything and offered many helpful hints re: other areas of the house. Answered every question. Such a nice gentleman to work with. Will recommend him to all our neighbours and friends. 10/10.
