Poor craftsmanship: walls not square, poor carpet with visible seams, low quality kitchen cabinets (we upgraded too), poor finish trim (lots of visible nails through home), cracking grout in tiles, unfinished yard are 3-1/2 months after closing. Only good experience was there sales person. She was great and very responsive. 5 out of 5 stars for her!!!

Buying a brand new house and moving in doesn't happen very many times in a lifetime. Each time should be special and memorable experience. Mattamy should understand this as they are a new homebuilder. What they delivered was an incomplete house and poor customer service. Firstly, they forced us to close eventhough we requested an extra week as there was a family emergency which required us to be out of the country. On closing day, we had no kitchen counter, no bathroom counter, master shower missing, parts of the drywall not finished, amongst many other minor issues. How can Mattamy expect to deliver a product in this state to the customer. It is incomprehensible. They blame it on the bad winter... If that is the case, they should push back the closing date because after it closes, it is like pulling teeth trying to get them to come back to complete it. Every time they come back they do one thing. I've had so many appointments with contractors that I've just left Mattamy with a set of my keys as I can't keep taking time off work to let these contractors in. It's been coming up on 3 months since I moved in and still hounding Mattamy to come back to finish up a few more things. May need to get Tarion involved.
Overall, the worst experience I've had with any company. Every time I think of Mattamy it leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
Do yourself a favour and look to other homebuilders.

Excellent and responsive customer service. Provided thorough explanation of product offering along with full disclosure of costs along with associated timelines. I would recommend using them as as a builder. there is a higher cost but i assure you the quality of work is well worth the additional investment.

Mattamy was on my hitlist for poor customer service but after 4 months after closing they have fixed my discrepancies with my new home purchase so I give them a 4 stars, Mark the building Sup. did a good job trying to respond as quickly as he could with all the new construction,

We purchased a townhouse in Windsong and honestly haven't had bad experiences like others have. I feel like the detached single family homes have way more problems. I can honestly say that I feel like a reasonable effort has been put into addressing our concerns so far. We have our 1 year warren try visit coming up and honestly do not have many complaints. Mattamy homes are a bit more affordable than others - you get what you pay for, I suppose. But no major complaints from us!

First of all, the Pre-Delivery Inspection folks at Mattamy will try to rush you. They will not point out any problems with the homes and just want to brush through every room in the home as being "perfect". Be careful about this and TAKE YOUR TIME. Notice and mark down everything, even if they make you feel that they are in a hurry. Then, when you do take possession of the house, submit any item which are defective to Tarrion. I have had extremely poor service from Mattamy Homes. Many things have not been fixed in the house and they are just acting very unprofessionally. I would not recommend anybody to purchase a house with Mattamy Homes since you will regret your purchase. Very poor customer service and after sale service.

Less than 7 yrs. in home roof has leaked 3 times. Mattamy said they fixed after first time. At least 9 other homes had leaks at that time. Also, all the window seals are going in the homes on my street and we are starting to replace windows after less than 7 yrs. Tarrion is useless.

I bought a home from mattamy just over 2 years ago. Since then i have had 2 external-internal leaks. The front of our house has a porch that covers the two front windows and front door. The roof was leaking causing water to pool down into our windowsill. Also inside the wall and down to the carpet in front of the window. The warranty people are very slow and dont seem to care that people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on their homes. Also my bathtub in the top level of the house drain leaks. Having water drip down all the way to tne basement. Mattamy came over a month ago to diagnose the problem. They cut a hole in the wall behind the bath tub and told me that the drain pipes had never been glued together. Instead of just gluing them quick while they were here and fixing the problem they said they would have to get back to me. Irs been over a month now and 1 of my 2 showers is out of order. I would highly recommend not building with mattamy as the builders are terrible and seem inexperienced. Ie not checking drains for leaks before drywalling everything shut. Im not the only one with problems. The most parhetic problem i have encountered is at my brothers home. When they installed his stairs leading outside from his sliding patio door they installed them on the wrong side. The door only slides open 1 way. After ge notified them of their pathetic mistake it took them over 3 months to fix the problem and his house wasnt the only one that had tne stairs mounted the same way. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND DONT BUY A MATTAMY HOME LIKE I DID.

Mattamy provides a terrible service. I am a second time Mattamy homebuyer and saw a considerable drop in the quality of workmanship & service. They do not seem to care & would rather inconvenience the homeowner multiple times (going on 6 visits) than fix the issues. They come unprepared to your house & only manage to get 1 thing fixed after a whole day of work. I have been waiting for 3 issues from my PDI to be fixed & I have been in my home for over 1.5 years. Most of the actual workers are great, the warranty managers are the problem Buyer beware! I will never buy another mattamy again!

When you build a new home, you expect to have issues. How these issues are dealt with, is a different matter. What you cannot complain about is floorplans, size of garages, not back landscaping etc. The floorplan is one that you as an individual pick, the garage sizes are on your plans, and they are up front with what landscaping is done for different types of homes (townhouses, duplexes, single family detached). Not enough people who are happy with their homes built by Mattamy actually come on these sites, and say why they love their home. If you are unhappy with your own decision, thats not a reason to criticize Mattamy. These reviews are meant to help people make an educated decision on what could be the largest purchase of their lives.
I'd recommend Mattamy to my own family, nevermind friends.
