When you decide to undertake a big home renovation with a GC, you're putting your trust and a significant part of your net worth in the hands of someone you barely know. You do your due diligence, you meet with them on several occasions, you visit previous clients and projects, you do what you can, but ultimately, you're in their hands.

Men at Work undertook a gut and addition for our 1940s house in the Edgehill Etobicoke area taking an old 2000sf 1940s house to a 3400sf house with all the modern amenities and kept a nice homey feel to the end product. We used their architect and design services as well and are thrilled with the final product. Ultimately Paul and company took a professional approach to what can be a "back of the napkin" business.

The collaboration was professional making full use of project management online support, an app linked to our project decision process, video conferencing to make our lives easier and great staff who were keen to make sure we were happy with the final product. The number of disruptions to your life and the volume of decisions are overwhelming at times, so it's nice to have a professional team supporting you throughout the process.

We dealt with Paul (owner), Keith (architect), Natalie (design) and John (site manager) for over a year from beginning to end. They managed us through the design, planning, Committee of Adjustments process, right to the picking and placement of furniture.

The whole family is happy with the final product and it's a home we'll be happy to live in for the next 20 years.

They have a great team approach and the follow-up support has been tremendous.

Men at Work completed a Reno of our semi. They lowered our basement and added an extension to the basement, first and second floors. we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Paul and his team worked diligently to make sure we ended up with our dream home, on budget, on time, with little stress. Having a team of professionals that work just for them ensured efficiency, and the online project management system allowed us to know what needed to be decided, and when, and provided links to resources that helped us as first time renovators. I have recently completed extensive renovations in my house. I have insulated walls in my house, redid the kitchen, bathrooms, and installed new HVAC system throughout the house. An exceptional design and build company that installs trust from day one. We completed a two story addition on our detached Toronto home in a period of 5 months. The job was seamless, and all communication from Paul the owner to John our project manager was honest, prompt, and detailed. An informative contract outlines the project from a to z. Timelines and stage-by-stage milestones are managed continuously throughout the project with the home owner and project manager. At no point did I feel left in the dark, or unaware of each step of the Reno.

Our deadline was completed in a timely manner, although we did go over budget albeit at our own volition.

I would and have, highly recommend this design and build group -and would bring them back for future projects. This team is simply great.

Paul and his team were great. We were very happy with the finished product and found the whole process pretty stress free. The star was their designer Natalie. I gave her an idea of the style I wanted and she executed it perfectly. I would definitely use them again for future renovation projects and have recommended them to friends.

After almost a year of searching for a new home, we decided to renovate to accommodate our growing family. We were hesitant to take on such a large renovation (3 storey townhome) while expecting our second child but the Men at Work team not only made the process as painless and quick as possible, but the end result was better than we could have imagined. They are highly skilled and professional - from the designer, to project manager, the electrician, the cabinet maker and everyone in between. They are very accommodating and easy to work with. Men At Work carried out an extensive renovation of our home which included, the building of an addition, the complete overhaul of our kitchen, the building of a dormer, the building of a new bathroom, redesign of two bedrooms plus various painting and other small design features. They were a pleasure to work with. We found Paul and his team to be pragmatic and perceptive such that they understood quickly our vision for our home and worked with us to ensure implementation of this vision in as painfree a process as is possible for a renovation of this kind. The team at Men At Work was able to combine varying price points and design ideas to come up with a cohesive yet cost-conscious design plan which has been extensively complimented since completion. The Men at Work team ensured a seamless and smoothly flowing work process so that delays were minimised and where deviations from our work or design plan were necessary, such deviations were overcome with a suitable alternative design suggestion or were minimised to prevent a slowdown to the work already being performed. Since completion of the renovation we have not hesitated to recommend Men At Work.

Paul and the team recently completed a 2 story addition, including an unfinished basement space, for our home in Bloor West Village. We out-grew our home and needed additional living space so we put a new living room, mudroom and powder room on the main floor, and added a new master bdrm with walk-in closet and ensuite on the second floor. Having never undertaken a major renovation before, and wanting to stay in our house during the renovation, we selected Men at Work based on our belief that not only would Paul and his team give us the beautiful new space that we needed, they would also make the process as smooth as one can expect for this type of work. We were pleased on both fronts. The work was complete on-time, within budget, no major issues, no surprises, and tremendous people to work with right from the top of the organization down through all of the sub-trades. Paul, John, Keith, Natalie and everyone else were true professionals. So far, any minor issues that have arisen have been dealt with quickly and efficiently.
