Royal Decks And Landscapes

This project was completed in May 2012 (apologies for the delay). Julian was my main contact person and he was extremely easy to contact and talk to, and probably a huge reason we decided to go with Royal Decks over another company.

We were extremely excited when our project start date got pushed up. Jesse and his partner worked really hard (12-14 hour days) and by day 4, the deck was close to done. Unfortunately, they ran out of material and fascia boards were on back order, and that's when things started to turn south.

We were concerned about animals getting underneath the deck without these fascia boards, and when I expressed this concern, I felt I was just being brushed off. We were then away for 5 days and when we returned, the deck was still incomplete, but the back-order material was sitting on our front lawn. I had to follow up a couple times to figure out when they were coming back to finish the job. One day without notice, I came home and the deck was completed. Great, but just wish I was informed and could have been home for it. Lastly, some material from the very beginning was still left on our lawn for a few more days after the project was completed. I also had to follow up to see when it would get picked up. This resulted in a giant dead patch of grass we ended up having to fix ourselves with reseeding and fertilizer.

Overall, we are happy with the final product, and the service was good up until the back-order. After working with another contractor on another project after this, I have come to a conclusion that contractors in general are not the greatest with communication, and I have come to terms with this.

I think what makes a good contractor a great contractor is how they deal with problems if and when they arise. I would still recommend Royal Decks to others despite our issues, in hopes that this review will help them improve their business.

Royal Decks is a great company and Miro and Steve are great guys to deal with. They did my deck on time and on budget. They fixed a couple of initial defects in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Just Happy with the work got some of the deck wood replaced and i just vary happy we need more companies to strive to make people happy. Everyone, This is the company for you when you need a deck.

Three years ago we had full double glazing done by Royal Decks. They were so professional and the end result was wonderful so when we were considering having our patio decked there was only one firm I felt confident enough to approach.

I started with an old worn out patio needing constant jet washing to keep it looking ok but after Croston had spent a week taking away all the old flags and walls,putting down all the steel foundations and then laying the decking surrounded by a neat white rail and steps down to the garden area the end reult was amazing.

The workmen were so professional and cleared away all rubbish leaving the patio a haven to look forward to if we ever get any nice weather.

It is so easy to keep clean ,hard wearing and the difference it has made has to be seen to be believed.

I would recommend this company to anyone who requires a quality professinal job at a very competative price.

I wanted a cedar deck to replace the original deck on my 1920s house, keeping the original look. Julian, the salesman, was very easy to work with. He arrived on time for meetings and quickly responded to my emailed questions about the quote.
Steve did a great job building the deck. He always kept the work area clean and the deck ended up looking better than I had hoped.

The project went very smoothly from start to finish. We selected modern composite materials for the new veranda, which look great and will provide years of maintenance-free service. Miro and Steve were great to deal with and the quality of the work is top-notch. I would definitely hire Royal Decks for other projects.

When you search for a company to design and build your deck, you are buying the sales guy, and generally not the guy who builds your deck. In this case, even though they were different people, they shared the same attributes.

Miro was an excellent salesman. He listened to our concerns, took our ideas and through multiple revisions had the same pleasing demeanor in trying to find a solution that made us happy. We were extremely impressed with his quality, patience and understanding.

Steve was the builder, and through his professionalism, on the fly suggestions for minor modifications that would help the overall look and design of the deck, along with his humour, just about made him family.

I would watch the effort Steve put into building the deck and could not imagine anyone more detail focused on every aspect of the job, and now could not imagine anyone else having built our deck. The quality and workmanship is impressive to me and we are very thrilled with the entire experience with Royal Decks. I’m confident our deck with outlast our house.

After disappointing results from other home renovation projects we have done, this is something wonderful to review.

I reviewed 4 of the larger deck contractors in the GTA and chose Royal. In the end I made an excellent choice. The tradespeople did first quality work, kept us appraised of status of the project at all times, kept a tidy work area and suggested small adjustments along the way to make the project even better than originally contemplated. I would be happy to reference them to anyone else selecting a deck contractor.

What a great deck. I did some research, selected a few deck companies to get quotes from, and met with them all. None were selected. They just didn't feel right. Then I found Royal Decks. They were the first company that we felt comfortable with. Price was secondary in making our decision. Feeling good about the company was primary. That's why we chose Royal Decks. Once it came time to start the deck, we met the crew, Jesse and Everret. What a couple of nice guys. They were both very polite, very accomodating and cleaned everything up at the end of the day, each and every day. No mess was ever left. They didn't even seem to mind me coming out every once in a while to how they were doing. Once they started, we were glad that it was these two men that were sent to do the job. Jesse's attention to detail was way beyond anything that I had expected. The quality of his workmanship is amazing. Not a detail was missed, not a shortcut was taken. All of his cuts and angles were perfect. Every piece of wood lined up perfectly. Nothing was out. No mistakes were made. They built our deck is so solidly, that if we had tornado's here, I am quite confident that the deck would still be standing, without a house attached to it! If we ever move and decide to have a deck built again, I will hunt these two down, no matter which company they are with, to have them build it. That's how good they are! Thank's Jesse and Everret, for a GREAT job and a GREAT deck. Joanne and I are thrilled with it. I'm glad we chose Royal Decks.

We are very pleased with our new deck. Administration (Miro & Steve)and Workmanship (Lisa & Joe) were A+. We feel like we have a new and beautiful extension to our kitchen.
