Glass partitions for 4100 sqft office

We called Shower Door, got a quote promptly from Les and made arrangements to proceed. Tony and his crew came at the appointed time and took measurements. The glass arrived when we were told it would, was installed in the time they said it would take and looks exactly as promised. We are very pleased with the service and the product, and won't tell these guys how much less than the next lowest price they were...

Thanks for the wonderful endorsement Matt. Customers often do not realize that we do commercial work - particularly interior office partitions, mirror door systems etc. Good planning leads to great results and I am pleased that things worked out to your expectations.

Tub screens, breakfast bar, glass stairways, mirror walls

I have used this company on three renovation projects for different types of installation. High calibre workmanship is important in such projects, and I have always been delighted with the finished product. Prices are reasonable, service efficient, and all staff professional and pleasant to deal with. Will of course use them again and would recommend them without hesitation.

Custom Shower Enclosure

I ordered our custom shower enclosure from shower door Canada and installed it myself. I received email assistance on a weekend from them when I had questions and the install went smoothly. Given the remote installation location we required extra care in packaging and the glass made it all the way with no issue! Everyone thinks it looks great!

Installation of shower glass door

Ryan measured and installed the shower glass for our new washroom and did an excellent job. The shower glass really made the bathroom, definite value for money. Ryan took my input, and gave due consideration to the size constraints and fixture placement in our bathroom, and installed it just right. The look, the fixtures, and the size of the panels perfectly suit our bathroom aesthetics. He also accommodated our schedule as much as possible, which was greatly appreciated. Thanks so much, Ryan!

Frameless shower doors

In a few short words; DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! AND DEFINITELY DON'T CONTRACT THEM TO DO ANY WORK THAT INCLUDES ANY INSTALLATION!!!
In mid December we contracted and gave a $1,000.00 deposit for this company to supply and install a set of frameless shower doors in our newly renovated master bathroom. A representative came in mid December and took measurements of the shower door opening area. The glass panels (doors) were to be ready for install in mid January 2013. At the end of January we called to find out what the current status was regarding the installation timing and were told that they would have to get back to us. In early February the doors were ready for installation. When they came to install, there were two men, one was their installation supervisor (Joe) with his helper (Joel). They commenced opening all the components and checking off the parts list to confirm everything was there.
They did not bring any drop cloths to put down over our brand new porcelain Carrera marble tiles as well as the new "Maxx" shower basin. As a result of this, they dropped components and caused chips in the floor tiles and the shower basin. Another very important item they didn't bring were any type of step stool to allow them to work at eye level where they needed to, which was an issue as the header bar for the doors was to be installed at approximately 78 inches above the floor level. They incorrectly drilled the holes in the wall for the header bar, which caused the door to keep rolling open. They had to make additional holes in the wall tiles to correct this, and they were unable to complete the installation as they incorrectly cut the header bar (twice) and could no longer use it so they had to re-order a new one. Approximately 1-2 weeks later they came back to complete the installation. After the install was complete, and we finally got to use our new shower, it leaked! Not just a little, a lot! We were unaware that they should have added a plastic water guard strip between the two doors. We also ended up needing a strip along the bottom of the door, and the front of the door. Their lead installer Joe admitted to us that this was only the 2nd set of this type of shower doors they had ever installed and he didn't know how to fix the leakage problem! We had to basically tell them how to fix it and they had to have the door guide modified to accommodate the bottom door seal. Although the doors no longer leak, the strip along the bottom rubs against the door guide as they did not install the door guide straight, and as a result the bottom door seal is being slowly shaven away where it rubs against the door guide on one side. Shower Door Canada was supposed to drop off an additional strip for us to keep as a back up. To date, we have not received it! Since they have the balance of their money, it's most likely we will never see it! Toni, one of the principal owners of Shower Door Canada insisted on being paid the balance owing before he would even solve our leakage problem, and provide the additional bottom door strip, basically holding us hostage, collecting our money before the issues were resolved! Very Poor Customer Service to say the least!!!!

Update Sept. 2013: To this date we have not received the spare bottom door seal as promised by Tony from Shower Door Canada , and we have now found the shower guard glass on the sliding door is on the wrong side of the glass as they originally thought when they arrived to install the system; as well the door continues to slide slightly out of alignment.
Just to be sure everyone understands we were never in consultation with this "Joe" the "Install Manager"; nor was he ever at our home to see the site and requirements as was stated by "Tony" until after they arrived to complete the install and even at that time he did not raise any concerns until they had made errors and multiple drill holes in our wall tiles for the upper track rail. Then they laid blame on the door system.

Company Response

As a proud owner of Shower Door of Canada since 1985 I am proud to say that we have successfully completed thousands of installations for satisfied customers over the years.

Try as we may it is not always possible for every job to be perfect and some customers prove to be harder to satisfy than others no matter the length you may go to satisfy them.

Mr. H's shower was on a very narrow shower pan and the frameless shower door selected by the customer was not ideal for the situation. The custom shower door selected was a new product design, which the client specifically insisted we used against the words of wisdom by Joe our Installation Manager because he was afraid there could be leakage due to the narrow shower, The door proved to be particularly difficult to seal in such a narrow configuration. In actual fact we successfully custom fabricated a bottom guide specifically to accomodate a seal that would keep the water inside.

At the end of the day we gave the customer a discount to secure final payment, offered to give him an extra sweep at no charge, custom fabricated a part to make the shower seal properly and in general bent over backwards to achieve best results.

We were very disappointed to get this vindictive review and continue to strive to provide the best possible products, installation and customer service.

Frameless Shower Door and Enclosure

I recently renovated my en-suite bathroom and used Shower Door of Canada mainly because they were recommended by my contractor. Initially everything went as scheduled. They came to measure, sent me a schematic and quote which seemed fair. However, it became a very drawn out affair once they came to install the doors. They had to come back 5 times. Things that went wrong were: bringing the wrong parts (2x); not having the proper installation tools; after the third visit I was informed that a part was backordered; a defective hinge and black marks which could not be removed from the glass and not showing up at the scheduled time. The installation person was kind enough to tell me that this level of quality of materials and service is to be expected and part of today’s world. They put through the final payment on my credit card prior to the job being complete and neither informed me nor sent me a “paid” statement. I had to request a copy of the paid receipt numerous times. I was disappointed in the level of service and would not recommend them to my friends.

Wow, terrible service. No one answers your call unless your buying something. Doors were installed in Dec, leaked, fixed, leaked again. 5 months later still leaking. Customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with.

New Frameless Shower Door

Les is on the sales side. He's responsive and knows his products very well. Helped us choose the right door and hardware.
Installation turned into a problem. We had them try to correct a leak and it was only on the 3rd attempt that they sent an experienced installer who finally fixed the problem. Some issues with call backs for service; but once I learned to call Les for service, it was not a problem.
Despite the foregoing, we are very pleased with the cost and the final outcome and would recommend them.
