Soft Surfaces

We tried Soft Surfaces a few years ago and then switched to a couple of Groupon companies to save money. Well, we discovered that you get what you pay for and decided to hire Fred again and get the job done properly.

He is efficient, friendly and takes pride in his work.

I contacted Fred after seeing his work truck in the area and reading the reviews here. I was not disappointed. I have used many different upholstery/carpet cleaners over the years and Fred is the best. His workmanship and customer service are superb. Fred and his colleague are hard-working and conscientious individuals that I would not hesitate to use again or refer.

Fred helped us out of a jam last week and we could not be happier! Our new dog had an 'accident' in the house - carpet and couch involved! Fred was able to squeeze us in in-between appointments to get to the stain before it set. He was so professional and calm and did a great job, as well as giving us good advice about steps to take should it happen again. I have had Fred and his assistant three times over the past few years. They are very pleasant and conciencious and l've always been happy with the results they have achieved. I highly reccomend them.

Moved into our new home in downtown Toronto where the basement carpet definitely needed a cleaning due to cat spraying. Found Soft Surfaces/Fred based on Homestars and a single call and his office had us scheduled for within the week. Fred and his assistant were very friendly, polite and did a great job. The only reason I haven't given them full marks was that over the phone the office quoted a rate of 39c per sqft and when it came time to settle up ...the invoice was for 50c per sqft. I mentioned this discrepancy to Fred and he apologized profusely for the misinformation I was given over the phone and promised to look into this immediately to rectifying any discrepancy in rate quote information by his phone operator for future clients. I had no problems with the jump in price as it was more in-line with what I'd originally anticipated and the 39c rate was simply a bonus when I first had called. It was my own fault for not confirming, the quoted over the phone rate that I was given, with Fred prior to setting him to work. I'd recommend that anyone using them simply double check the quote prior to commencing the actual cleaning. Beyond this misunderstanding ...several weeks later our basement carpet looks great and no longer emanates the nasty cat spray smell. Many thanks for the great job!

Fred was punctual, polite, and approachable. He did a good job in cleaning our basement carpet. He measured the area that needed to be cleaned first, and gave us an estimate. We did not have a chance to compare the prices since he was the first company we called. We simply replied on the good reviews provided by others on homestars.com, and went ahead with Fred. Really enjoyed talking with him besides his professionalism.

I was very impressed with this company. Fred, who came to do the cleaning was really great, and a lovely gentleman who I had a really nice chat with as he worked. He was very thorough and got out all of the stains from a recliner I didn't have a lot of hope for. It now looks really good. What is also great about this company is that the products they use are environmentally friendly. And I was not charged as much as I thought I would be, which was a very big plus.
