This company did everything they were contracted to do in a timely manner. They we courtious, prompt, tiday and overcame an obsticles in a diffuclt job.
I would not hesitate using them for any future project in this or any other home we have.they were recomended and certainly professional in an industry that doesnt have the best of reputations.They follow up on everything and explain in a way that the lay person can understand.

Site boss was very experienced and capable.

He treated the project like it was his own - even made suggestions on issues I had not thought of.

The owner is supervising himself, on premise, and make sure the work is done perfectly....leaving the area spotless !

terrible. Flat roof was not sloped to drain. Constant leaks inside. Dan does not visit site to inspect even when requested too.

After years of working with his father I will never hire him or his constantly changing crews again.

Our experience with The Roofer (www.theroofer.net) in 2012 is in stark contrast to the previous reviews that date from 2010. We needed to get both our peaked and flat roofs repaired in the upper Beach. Our contact was Dan, not William. Dan came to us very highly recommended by a work colleague with excellent connections to the trades. We obtained five quotes in all, including 3 from Homestars-recommended firms and one firm from a neighbourhood sign. Everyone provide two quotes, one for the flat and one for the peaked roof. The prices for the peaked roof were +/- 10% from the median, but the quotes for the flat roof ranged wildly, with the highest being nearly 1.8x the lowest. The Roofer was competitive on both quotes. Dan was very responsive explaining what was needed and the differences in quality of the materials and worked with us to fit within our budget. The crew arrived as expected bright and early on the pre-arranged start date and got to work. I’d not really understood some of the Homestars roofer reviews comments about clean-up until they started to strip the roof. Ahh! What an incredible mess! The crew were fast, efficient and unobtrusive. The wife’s mother cat-sat alone on the 2nd and 3rd days, felt very comfortable and reported that the workers did a very thorough clean-up before departing, something we confirmed on our return. Let me repeat this - the clean-up was excellent. Only one small spot was missed, and this they couldn't see (a window sill ten feet up a wall). The quality of the work appears top-notch, and the foreman came by and fixed the one area we questioned after we had inspected the job. Dan furthermore generously provided advice and guidance with some related questions we had after the work was done and they were paid - always a good sign. Dan was a pleasure to work with; communications were done largely by email, and response times were always good, matching my own response times.
All in all we had a very positive experience I have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending The Roofer.

I thought they were very expensive for the work, which was not related to the price. They charged by their name and not the work actually done. They left the ladder in the front of the house for 3 days, anyone could have used it to get to the second floor and vandalize. Perfect opportunity for theft. Another roofer I know went up the roof a year later and noticed all the discrepancies, which I, as a homeowner would never have known. Always double check the work. I would not recommend them.

Hired The Roofer after seeing some of their work done on my street. Price was right and they started work when they said they would. Did good and fast work on the flat portion, as weather was becoming a factor. They also removed some glass panels over my front porch and turned it into a regular sloped roof. Good job there too.
My issues are two-fold: firstly when work was being done on the flat portion, it seems their propane tank was acting up so they decided to take my BBQ tank to use. I wasn't asked or told about this until I mentioned it to the owner. I was given a rather weak excuse that their tank was freezing up and in order to save time from having to go to office and get a new one, they decided to take mine with the idea of refilling it the next day. Well they didn't give my old tank back, instead leaving me the one they were having issues with, and sure enough when I went to BBQ, it gave me a hard time.
My second issue is with the clean up of the debris. I'd rate them 7 out of 10 on that. I told the contact I had, William, about the issues with both that tank and the cleanup and was promised it would all be taken care of. I cleaned up their leftover debris myself but as for the tank, as of this writing it hasn't been returned and I've pretty much given up on it too.
