Richard arrived for the assessment and quote. He doesn't rush you while you describe the issue. He has great observational and analytical skills. and carefully explained the options and his recommendations. He can explain anything you might want to know about sills! There was absolutely no over-selling whatsoever. Very comfortable and informative meeting.
Jake arrived for the installation. Equally informed and knowledgable about the work. It was done efficneitnly and quickly. A wonderful product and a pleasurable experience. This is the epitome of customer service and the first time I've done a Homestead review! Kudos to Wilkins(and I'm not even related!!).

My job included replacement of about 60 bricks with new mortar, replacement of the dome around my chimney, and tuck pointing everywhere necessary.

The gentlemen from Wilkens were outstanding. They arrived and got straight to work. First confirming all of the work to be completed and the colour and style choices we had made earlier.

They had to work around two other crews doing work at my property and even encountered a surprise squirrel's nest in my chimney. The relocated the furry creatures and completed all the work quickly and professionally.

Honestly, they matched the brick and mortar so well I could not tell which bricks were replaced.

I was first impressed by Richard's extensive knowledge while he was giving an in person quote which was competitive. Cameron and Clark did an outstanding job on the pointing and went over and above in battling wasps as well as doing an outstanding clean up including cleaning the street in front of our house. I would recommend Wilkens without any hesitation!

Wilkens Contracting is a reliable, family-run business that we have used for multiple projects around our home. In this instance we used them to fill-in a basement doorway (exterior) and then parge-over the lower part of our foundation. Their employees have been working for the firm for decades and you get a true family-feel from everyone you work with. They were great to work with and would do so again.

A Job Well Done
My 1940s era houses chimney and partial side wall were in bad shape. Especially. the mortar on our chimney was cracking and missing from the joints. It was a potential safety hazard.
Two months ago, partial work was performed on the side wall, but it was very badly done by another contractor.
Then, I contacted Wilkens Contracting Inc. Jake promptly responded back and came to review the job that I wanted done. The job involved scaffolding setup, chimney repair/tuckpointing; re-grinding down and clean out the old mortar joints and tuckpointing the side wall; parging a basement window sill, etc. I had several companies give me quotes, but I chose Jake as he came across as trustworthy, professional and a good communicator. His rate was competitive.
Jake and his team workers, Cameron and Clark were extremely competent and courteous. They did a great job tuckpointing bricks and matching the mortar to the existing colour. Communication was open and honest. The actual project was done professionally and properly, no short cuts. Every step was explained to me in detail. The team was very professional, kept me in the loop on what they were doing and were courteous and respectful of my and my neighbours properties! Clean up was perfect. This time I had no headache or problem with the project.
All in all, a pleasant undertaking. Professional work & excellent service. Best experience we had with trades in years. We highly recommend Wilkens Contracting Inc.!!

Great job! My step and wall crumbled and fell apart over the winter. Jake did a great job! He was a fabulous communicator, explaining everything as he went along. He took great pride in his work. The rebuilt wall and step have never looked better! Wilkens' kindly accommodated my very tight schedule.
