Custom Granite & Marble Ltd

We recently renovated our kitchen and bought granite countertops from Custom Granite in Stoney Creek. It took half a dozen trips for my wife and myself to pick out our granite slab as there were many to choose from at the Stoney Creek location.

The salesperson (Shea) was very helpful and we valued her opinion and advice on the slab we chose as well as the double sink (also from Custom Granite).
The fellow that did the templates for our 2 galley kitchen counters and island was very nice, professional and helpful also.

The installation crew was very good too, installing the 3 countertops and sink in one hour.

We are quite pleased with the final product.

Our only disappointment was that communication was not the best and as a result, we missed out on an opportunity to receive a discounted bathroom vanity top which we were looking forward to getting.

Overall though, we are quite pleased with this company and would use them again.

Worst job ever. They use a 3rd party to install the counter tops and the installers made major errors when putting in the counter tops. When we called to have it fixed, they showed up angry and with an attitude. The first time I trusted them to do the job right and since they didn't when they came back I made sure it was being done right but they were upset that I was checking up on them. Never use a counter top place that contracts out the installation of the counters. It was a nightmare. I would have kicked them out of my house but I just wanted the job to end so I put up with the attitude.

BUYER BEWARE. Two of our counters were great, but the problem was our master ensuite. The stone was the exact stone we wanted, and matched our existing shower sill perfectly. They sent a photo to approve before they cut - & here is the problem. The photo is such poor quality there was no way to see there was a vein/crack. This is really inexcusable with todays technology. I would have thought they would have mentioned this before they cut. Unfortunately I could not be there when they installed, or I would have stopped at that point. The counter is a light stone and there was a huge vein, that looks like a crack. It looks sooo bad. I wish I could attach the photos of what they sent to approve & what they installed. I met Mike the owner, and he showed me the slabs. I was looking at the top of the stone where the vein is not even noticable, but the vein got huge at the bottom against the floor, and of course that is the area they cut for my counter. We came to a verbal agreement that if I picked out a new piece in Concord, they would install for cost of $300 to $350. I did not get this in writing - my mistake. My husband & son picked out the same stone in Toronto and went to inspect when it arrived, but the company did not ship the stone they picked, but a badly marked piece. We are starting to think marble companies are not trustworthy, as there is not way we would pick out something this flawed. My husband went back to Concord to another company & picked a new piece. I inspected when it arrived, and it was good. The date is set but now Custom Granite wants $500 to install. Remember I already paid full price for the first inferior piece and feel I'm being very generous offering to pay anything, not to mention our time & expense for two trips into Toronto, and paying a plumber for the second time, and living for over 4 months with an incomplete bathroom. At this point I told Mike I was very disappointed in the customer service, and that I would report on Homestars & BBB & file in small claims. His response, to write a very threatening letter , basically stating they are never wrong and that he would counter sue. I can't believe a company would do this over $200. My advice - STAY AWAY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE and wherever you buy go look at the peice before they cut, because things can change.

Was looking to install granite counter tops for kitchen and bathroom. I noticed this business from the highway and stopped to take a look. they have an extensive show room with many different slabs on display. We choose a leathered finish on a mid-level priced granite slab. Also bought a new blanco kitchen sink from them. They reserve the granite slab for you, send a person to your house to do the measurements, and then come over and install. Very professional and no problems. They will not do the plumbing for you so you have to do it yourself or hire a plumber. We are very satisfied with the work and quality of materials used. I wouldn't go anywhere else for granite counter tops.

I was recommended to Custom Granite by a friend of mine who also had redone her kitchen counters. I went through the process of selecting my granite, sinks and faucets with my representative, to which I will give kudos (she was a pleasure throughout the whole process). I was extremely eager to see my granite in place, seeing as how I had a large amount of counter space, as well as, a large island. On the day of installation, to my disappointment, I came home to find a large crack in the granite in front of one of the sinks, and a noticeable dent on my BRAND new stainless steel fridge. :( I was on the phone pronto with Custom Granite and after NUMEROUS calls I FINALLY had someone come out to fix the crack in the granite. As for the dent in my fridge - the owner himself informed me that they WOULD NOT be held responsible for personal items as such. He also informed me that he found it hard to believe that his installers would cause a dent as such. I was mortified, to say the least! He was insinuating that I was NOT being HONEST! Wowzers!! This was by far the largest investment of this sort I had made, and to be regarded as dishonest is not how I like to do business. Needless to say, I will NOT be recommending this company to any of my associates/friends.

he was recod to us but no pressure, take your time, come to the show room as often as you want. i also brought samples home all the time. i wanted a certain edge and he told me the goods and the bads on it, his expertise was welcome.

they stayed late to finish the job which was great. There was a stain and when we contacted them for help they were more than eager to give us information on how to clean it. And the product is fantastic because it was an Lshape but there were no seam lines. There was also an issue with the sink but they came replaced the silicon no issues! We really really happy
