This will be my third time using Reliance Holmes Heating and once again they exceeded our expectations. They originally told us they would arrive at 11am. I received a call at 10am asking if it would be alright if they came early - check mark for class right there. Upon arrival, they were clean, professional and very friendly with both my wife and I. We have dealt with many trades over the years and Reliance Holmes Heating seems to continue set the bar for everyone else whether it be working on our furnace, AC or now with the duct cleaning. I rely heavily on reviews for many purchases so I felt obliged to write a recommendation here for this company. Thanks.

the replacement went seamlessly, the installers were clean and they were very professional in their approach.

Trinden, the installer, showed up at the schedule time, introduced himself and we did a walk through while he did his assessment. The replacement seemed to go effortlessly and upon completion we went over the new system and the requirements of the new system.

I am not in the habit of writing reviews. However, today I had my furnace and fireplace serviced by Reliance Holmes Heating representative Dave MacKie. I was so impressed that I felt compelled to write this review. Here`s why I think Dave MacKie is a real professional:
1.He arrived precisely on time for our appointment
2. Within minutes he was able to identify and resolve a long standing issue with my fireplace starter. This problem had been raised with other servicemen in the past who had replaced numerous parts all to no avail.
3. Dave was able to address another long standing annoyance we had with rattling ductwork (when the furnace fan kicked in). Again this matter had been raised in the past but had not been resolved. Without me asking, Mr. MacKie spent the time to locate the problem and finally fix it. For this my family will be very grateful all winter!
4. Dave was very couteous, thorough and neat in his work.
5. Definitely value for money.
I just wanted to say thanks to Dave. It`s been a long time since I have encountered a serviceman who really cares about his customers and is rightfully proud of the quality work that he does. I will be asking Reliance Holmes Heating to send Dave to my home again when future service is needed.

Neil Durling was outstanding on this emergency service call, at 7:00pm on a Sunday of a long weekend! He identified the reason my a/c wasn't working within seconds of opening the cover plate - it was a faulty part.
However, although the a/c unit was under warranty, it wasn't with Reliance - so it would be quite a costly repair, or we would be without cool air during one of the hottest days of the summer. Dissatisfied with both options, I asked Neil if there was anything else he could do. And miraculously he was able to start up the a/c unit manually!!
The part still needs to be replaced, but at least now we can comfortably wait for it to be repaired under warranty. It was a pleasure to know Reliance doesn't coach their specialists to push sales on customers, but ensure the best service instead. I'll be calling them in the future for all the heating and cooling needs. Thanks Funace Whisper!

Neil Durling from Holmes came to diagnose our old A/C unit that was not functioning properly. He was very friendly and respectful, and took quite a bit of time to show and explain to me what he was doing and discussing the implications. He was very up front about fees for subsequent services. He is very knowledgeable and loves his work. Highly recommended!

We have also had good experiences with Holmes teams fixing a mis-wired gas stove and maintaining our furnace.

We have a home in Riverside South. Last year we had Holmes Heating come to clean out our ducts in the home. At that time they asked us if we were interested in our furnace and a/c being serviced. We said yes. They gave us a contract for the year and serviced both the furnace in the spring and the a/c in the early summer. Last winter something went wrong with the furnace and it wasn't working and the temp was -30. We phoned the emergency number and they called back right away. They came within a few hours and fixed the problem which was some sort of expensive item in the furnace that we didn't have to pay for because of the contract for the year. This spring they called us to remind us to get the furnace checked again and were very flexible with when they could come and do it!! We really think they are great!!!

Get their cost estimates before they come anywhere near you (and preferably in writing).
They charged me $303 (+HST) for 50 minutes of work! Included: $95 for diagnostic service and a flat fee of $208 (!!!!) for a 15-minute installation of the thermostat. To be fair, the cheap thermostat (approx. $20) was included in the flat fee.
No option to the flat fee was offered, nor was it explained to me before the work was done.
This is a gross overcharge! Doctors should have it so good.

Very unsatisfied,twice furnace quit,1st time tech said it looked fine,restart eventually worked,house was 14c,on a -20 c.a month later same thing.Holmes installed both a.c.and furnace,unfortunatly they don.t stand behind their workmanship!!,no follow up,unit is only 5yrs old.It.s a shame they dont stand behind their service or product. anyone know a good and caring furnace co?

This company installed a new furnace and water heater in our home in January 2011. We went with everything that the consultant, Mr. Osman recommended.
My wife and I are satisfied with the product; it is exactly what we needed. We highly recommend Mr. Osman.

The company came and replaced the furnace and ac unit and also the gas water tank was replaced. They were timely and good follow up. The value for money was good. Staff were friendly and cleaned up well after themselves. I would recommend them. They were punctual.
