Replace gutters, downspouts,etc

I was sick and tired of always having to clean my house gutter system and decided it was time for a change. I live in an area of lots of trees and this causes them to fill quickly with debris. I was talking with my neighbour a few months ago and he mentioned that he has the Leaf Guard system. I had also seen them at costco and scheduled an in-home sales consult.
I was shown the product and quality and was very impressed with the idea of not having to clean gutters again. Also, they come with downspout baskets so any debris is caught before it goes into the drainage system.
The quote was very detailed about the scope of work and the product comes with a number of warranties, one of which is transferable to the new homeowner.
On the scheduled day a crew arrived and the entire system was replaced in about 8 hours. Some of my fascia was repaired and the old gutters and downspouts were removed and everything was cleaned up. I am very happy with the look of the new system and it definately adds value to my house. Although it is more expensive the quality is hard to match and the service was excellent.

Gutter installation

Leaf Guard does not stand behind it's workmanship here in the lower mainland. They removed a section of gutter and replaced it with some flashing that failed within 48 hours. There was extensive damage to the interior and exterior of my home. It is now over three months later, and they still have not acknownleged their workmanship was at fault and refuse to pay to repair the damage. Any reputable company would have covered the cost of repairs or handed the mess to their issurance company.
Although the Leaf Guard system has an excellent reputation, the customer service and workmanship are lacking. I cannot recommend them.

new gutters

Yes its way more expensive than other gutters, yes I got the info through costco. its American, not Canadian, but these gutters are really top notch. we have gutters that are extremely high, and lots of trees on our block.. so Im not going to clean them and having them professionally cleaned is expensive due to the height. so I opted for these leaf guard gutter system.. these are heavier duty and larger service than other gutters and downpipes. each downpipe has a slide out catchment to putt out any small things that get through.. also the lifetime of no clogs is a pretty tempting thing for me as I said.. my gutters are very high and Im not schlepping up that ladder to clean it.

Bottom line.. I would have opted for something cheaper if my gutters were regular height and easy to access, but due to situation leaf guard was a no brainer for us.. we like it..

one gripe is the catchments are loud when raining hard, but we put a peice of aquarium filter in there and it dampens the sound a bit.

Replacement of Gutters

Our gutters were frequently getting clogged by leaves so we decided to try out Leaf Guard. They came and provided us an estimate. Overall, their service was good. So far, our gutters have not been clogged since the replacement but we just have to wait till fall to see if they really remain free of leaves.

Gutters replaced

I kept hearing ads about Leaf Guard Gutters on the radio so we decided to get ours changed. We had our roof replaced a few years ago and decided we'd give Leaf Guard Gutters a try. They gave us an overview of replacing them and did them efficiently. The only thing I was not happy about was the amount of debris that was left behind from the old gutters. They did not do a good good cleaning up. Otherwise, the gutters seem to be good and don't appear to have leaks yet. Will see after this winter how they hold up.

gutters repaired

We have leafguard gutters on our house - we had no problems whatsoever until the storm last year. We went outside the morning after the windstorm and one of the branches on our cherry tree had broken and had taken out the back corner of the gutter system. This of course was after the 1 year warranty we had received with Leafguard; however, we decided to give them a call - to see what could be done. I was more than pleasently surprised when they said "no problem, we'll be right out". They came checked out the problem, advised me there would be no charge and they would return that afternoon with a replacement for the damaged area. No fuss, no concerns - great service - couldn't be happier with the company and the product!

installed LeafGuard gutter system

I puchased LeafGuard gutters in the spring. When the rains came in the fall, I noticed that the downspouts were extremely noisy. I called LeafGuard to voice my concerns. I had to make five calls before someone agreed to come and have a look. Sponge was placed in the debris boxes and two wedges were placed between the downspout and the house. This was done only on one side of the house. Unfortunately the noise continued. I again called to ask what other measures could be taken. I was treated in a condesending manner and it was clear they thought I was being unreasonable. After getting the run around, I was finally promised that someone would come out in the next week. No one came and no one called. This gutter system is outrageously over priced and poorly designed. The company does not stand by their product and is rude and disrespectful to their customers. Buyer beware.

gutter installation

As a person who has a long history of working directly with contractors in the construction industry, we were shocked to discover that the service requested to add more leaf guard gutters to a new addition to our home was treated with very little appreciation. We did not question the cost as we only wanted to make our addition blend seamlessly with the original sections. It took Leafguard a long time to "get to us", which we found unacceptable for a return client. We finally did get the product installed. A few months later, I called Leafguard to see if they could service one of the original gutters on the home because it was leaking. After not less than 5 phone calls talking to a very rude receptionist, we gave up trying to get the "highly advertised service" guarantee put to use. Needless to say, I would not recommend them under any circumstances. The product itself is ok (they DO CLOG) but I would rather have regular gutters and hose them out myself twice a year than have to deal with a company that has no respect for the customer or their lifetime warranty. Don't waste your money. There are plenty of other gutter options out there for you to choose from.
