On line shopping

Ordering from Sears Canada on line is a nightmare! I tried to order three sets of mini-blinds, placed my order, all was well, but in a few minutes got a message saying the item was discontinued. Called and spoke to a customer service person, who was able to place the order for me no problem. The same thing happened when I placed a new order. Then when my oder was delivered it was double what I had asked for. The whole system is chaotic and messed up. The customer service is actually based in the Philippines so there is a huge disjoint between the on line catalogue and the customer service area. I have absolutely no confidence in Sears Canada after my most recent experience. No wonder so many of their stores have shut down. If the on line experience is indicative of the company in general, it's just a matter of time before it self destructs.

Sears Vinyl Rocker Recliner

We bought a Vinyl rocker recliner that had the coating falling off the chair leaving a mess on the floor. Contacted Sears about this and they said good luck because the 1 year warrant ran out 6 months prior. We paid $480 for a chair to use for 20 months. I told my spouse not to buy anything else from Sears.

Product - mattress

Purchased a Simmons BeautyRest mattress from Sears, rated by them as a 3 on "softness" scale on Sears website. Did not purchase the cover as I already have 3 at home. Mattress is very firm and uncomfortable. Manufacturer says it should have been rated 1 or 2. Email to Sears indicates they are "looking into it" and someone should be contacting me. I can't get any further. Have not heard back from anyone in over a week. No response to any of my inquiries. I guess the description of "pillow top" should have been "pillow-less top". A very dissatisfied customer!

BAD DELIVERY & CUSTOMER SERVICE

DO NOT order from Sears. I ordered a Bed and Mattress that was delivered 1 month late, then they were delivered 2 weeks apart.I spoke with customer service daily,but they are in the Philippines and CLUE LESS about anything these delivery companies are doing. Every time I called, they told me that they will deliver it tomorrow; then tomorrow came and NO DELIVERY! I had to stay home from work to receive the delivery and they never came.

I told them that I would sue them for the time I spent at home waiting for them to deliver my purchase.

I don't recommend them to anyone!!!

Sears Warrenty Repair Vaucum

HORRIBLE! Bought the vacuum in Nov 2013. Broke in June 2014. Took it to the store June 23, they told us to take it to their contractor. Took it to the contractor who said he needed a service order # from Sears to be able to order the part... get this, from SEARS, but we have do get it, Sears wont give it to the contractor. So we got the #, gave it to the contractor so he could call Sears and order the part. Whew! Sears said 6-8 weeks. Its now Sept 19. After calling for three weeks I've been told the part will arrive Oct 27. Then it will be a few weeks to fix. Of course, I won't be living in the city anymore, so I'm assuming they might mail it to me?? When I asked them to just take the vacuum back and give me one that works they said no, the part has already been ordered. In the meantime I've been vacuuming without a beater bar, with my now 10 month old crawling all over. Not ok. So I guess my only option is to buy a new one. NEVER going to Sears again. Its no wonder they are going under.

Kitchen range

I purchased an oven from Sears in April 2012 with extended warranty. Since then, I've had to have it repaired twice, waiting for weeks each time for parts that are on 'back order'. Seemingly no way to get to talk with someone who can do something about it.

Sears Extended Warranty Service

NEVER get extended warranty on any of their appliances! You will be lucky if the part shows up and you may get service. Apparently they had 40+ services techs in Calgary and let them all go only to rehire 7 of them back to cover the whole city. We are still trying to get the right part for our cooktop. No show appointments and poor service over all. We purchased extended warranties for all the appliances - what a joke. I would highly recommend getting your appliances from somewhere else! It's even worse service in the rural areas as I've heard from someone near Edmonton who cannot get service for their broken down washer. Avoid them!!!!!

purchasing online - toilet paper holders

Never every buy anything from Sears online. I ordered from Sears online for 6 toilet paper holders on July 17th to be shipped to a store to pick up. It never got there and I have been emailing and calling every day and no one will give me my money back. They all say it'll get rectified, but still no credit on my account yet. It's now been 2 billing cycles on my credit card and still no refund. Customer service is really bad and they have record that I never picked up the order so I don't understand what the issue is to give the customer back the money you charged. They come up with excuses about what the process is, who cares about the processes!? it doesn't work! I am urging everyone to not bother buying from Sears. No wonder it's going out of business!

kids furniture

Worse experience. Bed came with a defect waited 2 months for another one. Delivery guys delivered one box only. They took my bed and left my kids to sleep on the floir for one week. Filed a conplaint noone got back to me !!!!

Repairs

I have had Sears repair department send a repairman for my 2 year old Whirlpool Fridge at least 5 times now. The fridge is freezing my food - the freezer has a layer of ice in it. They have "repaired" the fridge each time and issues continue. The last time I called in trying to discuss the issue I was hung up on.
