Dave came by in the morning, was extremely professional, helpful, and willing to answer all of our questions about our foundation and its condition. He completed the agreed upon work quickly and efficiently, and was a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend Dave Marcotte Foundations to anyone looking to have any work done on their foundation or anything related.

I called Dave after I spotted two cracks in the foundation of my house, and he promptly replied with a quote that I accepted. Before his (punctual) arrival, I noticed another crack along a different wall and told him about it as he prepared to start work. He repaired all three cracks (via injection), after reasonably raising the original quote that was of course for just two cracks.

However, Dave thought it best to excavate( inside the basement) in front of one of the cracks and then patch it - at no additional cost to me - and returned to do so when he said that he would.

Dave was easy to deal with and after each visit he cleaned up the work areas.

To summarize: if you need foundation work done in Dave's service area, look no further than Dave Marcotte Foundations. He'll fix the problem that you actually called him about and - in my experience - he went above and beyond.

Added Bonus: Unlike another company that I happened to call first, Dave DID NOT try to up-sell me into spending BIG DOLLARS on some whole-basement platinum-plated (yet still, in my context, inapplicable and iffy) interior drain system c/w an over-priced sump pump (or two) that would pump - assuming correct installation and ever seeing significantly more than a trickle through the drain troughs - out to a hose cutting across my lawn.

A small crack repair and waterproofing turned into a major project Dave and his team was responsive, accommodating and professional.

Dave was very responsive by phone, and what he promised was what he and his crew delivered on. They dealt directly with the City when the inspector came onsite. When I had trouble filling out the City's permit application, Dave helped so it expedited approval. When I discovered that my window supplier had somehow forgotten to order the windows three months earlier, Dave suggested both an online supplier (excellent choice - the windows were a fraction of what I would have paid for custom windows and were delivered within a few days of the order from Toronto - no Customs issues). I also no longer trusted the window supplier so Dave recommended a different window installer who also did an excellent job and showed up on short notice. All in all, every problem I had with other tradespeople somehow got dealt with by Dave efficiently so that I got windows before the winter season.

I have used Dave's company three times so far, and I am always satisfied with the quality work they do.

The work was done when they said it would be done, on budget, and they came every day until the job was finished, weather permitting. The difficult areas to dig by machine were done by hand, so the porches were not dismantled. The site was kept neat and tidy, and when finished, restored well. The crew were efficient, polite, friendly and used a minimum of language your grandmother wouldn't like. We loved that they seemed happy to be doing the job, that they all pitched in with the less pleasant parts of the work. Happy workers make for good work, I think. We are very pleased to have chosen this company.

I spoke with a few different contractors who specialized in foundations and I was impressed by Dave's knowledge, candour and intregrity. I contracted DM waterproofing to excavate down to the footing around the house and add exterior insulation. Dave also built a a foundation for a 40x10 addition in ICF.

I was very picky about the details and they got them right. Dave and his crew were pleasant to deal with and very professional.

I cannot say enough good about this company. They showed up on the day and time promised; they honoured the price they quoted even though excavation had to go deeper and wider than originally thought; and they cleaned up beautifully with a pressure washer. Their price was highly competitive and they were one of the few contractors that would dispose of the clay they dug up, test the water flow in my French drain, use new and appropriate back-fill material, and return my patio stones and back step to their proper places. The crew was professional and polite. They had the right equipment and materials for the project. They dug out an old sono tube at no extra charge. All that and a 25 year warranty! Because their quality puts them in high demand, expect a few months delay between when you request a quote and when work can begin.

Dave the owner came out and gave a quote. Everything was clear and quote was laid out on paper. No surprises. The team worked very well together. NO complaining amongst them, or feeling of not wanting to be there. For those of you having to do lots of renos, you'll understand that last part. The tasks were done correctly and the crew was great!

We had some leaking in our basement earlier this year and after contacting Dave Marcotte and sending some pictures they pointed out a clear crack on the side of the house. We contracted them and they did a fantastic job to repair the crack (and also a second one that they found while on site). This is a great company which I will recommend to all. Here are a few reasons why:
1. They communicated very clearly from the beginning when then can start the project and respected the start date and the timeline. Once they started they communicated every step and also took pictures and emailed them to me so I could follow up with my insurance company.
2. They did a fantastic job in excavating the side of the house and repairing a deep crack that went all the way to the base of the foundation.
3. On day 1 of the project, the team noticed a second crack that I had missed. I asked them to excavate and repair that one too (also from outside of the house since the inside of the basement is insulated with spray foam).
4. They took the second crack into account when billing and I qualified for some discount (due to multiple crack excavations).
5. They excavated both cracks really deep and filled the deep cracks all the way down to the base of the foundation. Also guaranteed their work (all waterproofing) for 25 years!
6. They put the interlock (that they had to remove) back very nicely
7. They cleaned after their work was completed.
8. The crew was a good size (4 individuals) so the work got done really fast and efficient
9. Everyone was very professional
10. Oh and they did not damage our lawn with their machines and equipment!
I don't typically write reviews and this might be is the first one I've every wrote for a company. I do this because I value the work that was done and I know that homeowners look for a company they can trust. I hope this review will help homeowners in their selection.
