AC Repair

Richard is upfront and listens which are traits that I value tremendously. When I called Richard, I told him that I already had an AC technician in to diagnose my AC unit. The diagnosis was that there was a coolant leak (the inside of the furnace/AC was turning into a block of ice instead of cooling the house) and the technician's solution was to flush the system, fill it with nitrogen to find the leak(s) and then recharge the system with coolant. It was described that this would be an arduous process that would cost $800 to $1200. Alternatively, I could buy a new system for about $3000. Both of these options seemed too costly so I was looking for a second opinion.

Richard said that the proposed solution was overdoing it and he said that he would examine the system for the most common leak points based on his many years of experience, address them and then recharge the system with coolant. He found the leak right away, dealt with it and recharged the system and this cost me about $350.

Richard also increased the fan speed because the upper level of the house wasn't cooling very well.

I am pleased to say that the house now reaches the set temperature quickly throughout the house. Thank you Richard.
