Damage to Front Door - No Accountability
In reading all the reviews and my own experience, I would say that if everything goes well, you maybe ok with this company but if something goes wrong with the job, they walk away from any accountability. For that reason, I would strongly recommend that you find another company to avoid being completely screwed if something goes wrong.
My own story is that the outer pane of glass on our wood front door was accidentally shattered by our gardener. Glass Doctor was very responsive at first doing a fast quote, ordering the replacement glass and then installing all within a week.
However, when I got home, I realized that their technician had done a bunch of damage to our wood door while installing the glass taking gouges out of the wood and generally scratching and poorly finishing the work. The technician admitted to the damage to my sister-in-law who was there at the time.
Initially, they seemed responsive to my complaint but then sent the same technician back to examine the door – clearly very unhappy about it. He concluded that it would have to be replaced. Apparently, they did send someone else although I was not home at the time and never heard back from them again.
The original sales guy, Justin, promised that the issue would be handled but then completely washed his hands of it. Since then, I have left messages and sent emails and they do not return them.
There are some other glass repair places on the North shore. Pick one of them as they are more likely to stand behind their work if something goes wrong.
