Dany and his team built our backyard deck last summer and I found them to be professional and very skilled. They also helped us out in a jam on a last-minute project that was above and beyond what they typically do. I have nothing but good things to say about this company.

Danny was one of the quickest to respond when I pinged a half-dozen Homestars contractors, and his estimate for the work was almost bang on the final price. Deck was a mix of composite and cedar, and while there was one issue that I didn't catch on the initial drawings, Danny was able to adjust the design to my needs even after some of the work had been done. Because of my changes the project took an extra day, but I am very happy with the strong, attractive end-product.

Apology accepted. My error in thinking you had done deck gates before. Had no idea this was a new product for you. You should have said. The materials and my choices of railing were from the Trex website as was my idea of the gate. Assumed you were aware of the Trex options since it is the product you recommended.

This work was actually done in 2015. It involved removal of an existing second story deck, and replacement. I also had a large back deck added replacing a small one. Two issues arose. Firstly the back deck contract/ specs/ design drawing had a gate on it to keep children and or pets in. I have now waited 13 months for this gate which was paid for in full (my mistake). Despite countless emails, many calls, many promises and many explanations/ excuses - to date not gate. I was even made to feel like I was the problem or a nuisance in Dany's last response. That was the last straw after over a year of waiting. Even a patient person has limits.
The second issue is two loose (very loose) fascia boards on the second story deck after the first winter. The screws went right through the expensive plastic wood. I was told to take a photo and someone would be out in a week to fix it. No one showed. I suffer from neuromuscular disease and have a disability so can't get up on a ladder to fix it. The work is not bad (delays at times) but not bad. The two outstanding issues do not match the cost of the work and do not match the ratings on this site which are a bit high given my experience.
I have tried to be patient - but after 13 months, this review is well earned by this contractor.

My wife and I would like to thank Dany and his crew. We are extremely happy with the new deck and would highly recommend Dany. They were professional and reliable. Dany was great. His estimates, his craftsmanship and his contract were all nice. His crew did a great job. They were on time and equipped with the right tools. Dany came, measured the yards and gave an accurate estimate of how much we as neighbors had to dole out and that was it. No hassles to deal with and work was completed on time. They also cleaned up after the work was complete. Overall performance was great. Professionalism demonstrated.

The job was done on time and with care and attention to every detail. Dany was a pleasure to deal with and his crew was masterful. I couldn't ask for more.

We were very pleased with the service we got from Custom Deck and are really happy with the end result. Dany understood how we wanted our deck to look and had good suggestions about the best way to go about it. The team (Peter and Tom) arrived when Dany said they would, and worked hard for over a week in the July heat. We had a couple minor concerns during construction and when we brought them to Dany's attention, they were resolved immediately. Peter and Tom tidied up well at the end of each day and also at the end of the job. The deck is exactly what we wanted -- looks beautiful and is very well built. From start to finish, this company was a class act. Got a very good feel from the owner Dany when he arrived to give us an estimate on site. He explained all the options for the work and the types of materials that were available. We settled on a combination of pressure treated wood for the skirt, Trex composite decking material for the deck itself and the railings and a nice privacy wall.The tearing down of the old deck and placement of the supports was actually done while we were away on vacation.The team that built the deck was very efficient, polite, professional, and always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. They kept us informed as to the progress of the project on a daily basis.Two weeks in to having the finished deck, we could not be more pleased with the results. We are sure that it will be a great deck for years to come.
