Gem Electric

We were really lucky to find Gord prior to our kitchen renovation. It is stressful renovating and finding excellent contractors in who you have faith isn't easy. We found Gord's prices to be more than fair and he was very accommodating to our schedule.

I'm not actually sure that Gord needs any recommendations since he is already so busy. All of the electricians from Gem Electric were a pleasure to deal with.

We needed someone to re-wire a 100+ year old house in the Beach, and were referred to GEM Electric by a friend in the construction business. Gord and his team gave us a competitive quote and were able to work with our timelines and coordinate with a floor refinishing contractor and a plumbing contractor who were in the house at the same time. GEM pulled off a ton of work in a short space of time and we were very happy with the result. Old houses like ours are full of surprises, but Gord kept in contact, completed the work on time and stood behind their work - returning without any fuss or requests for additional money to fix one minor issue we noticed afterwards.

Gord and his crew showed up on time and made incredible progress in a short time. Part of the house was knob and tube and there was considerable additions made for our Reno. They are also adding a new 200 amp panel to accommodate all of the additional electrical and allow for future growth.

We were having new floors installed. They could have interfered with the plugs in our basement. So we called Eric in to advise and we're glad we did. Eric was a lifesaver.

Bought in Davisville Village and had to get Knob and Tube replaced to get insured and needed up to date outlets, lights, etc. I had 3 quotes and Gord and his team instilled confidence the minute I met them. Knob and tube experts clearly, and their work showed it. Price was very competitive as well. More importantly to me was the job getting done right with minimal damage to our original gumwood throughout the house and GEM achieved that.

Overall, professional honest guys and the work will get done right (value for your money). Instilled a great deal of confidence from the start especially when it came to knob and tube retrofits - really came across as experts on the K&T retrofit side and not just electricians. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone and will use them again.

Eric fit me in the morning I called, and phoned to let me know he was running behind schedule. when he came, he was very friendly and nice, and fixed an outlet that had blown very quickly. He knew exactly what to do and I felt confident when he took care of the problem. Didn't try to push me to do any work that wasn' tneeded to fix the issue. Very happy with them, would use them again or recommend to anyone.

Gem Electrical are fantastic. They re-wired our entire Victorian house (replacing the old knob-and-tube), plus a new panel, and new service to the street. They were very professional, quick, clean, and did an excellent job, all at very reasonable cost. I am an architect and work with a lot of trades, and I would highly recommend Gem.

The previous owners of our house had re-wired the majority of the house, informing us that there was only a minimal amount of knob and tube left in the building. Eric was easy to deal with from the get-go. He was on-time for his quote, provided a very thorough assessment, and suggested a number of additional ideas, including adding potlights in our living room and a central fan in our upstairs hall. He quoted us for the possible worst-case scenario with a promise to only do what was needed.

Eric was true to his word and re-wired only the cricuits that proved to be k&t - exactly what the previous homeowners had told us. His suggestions were helpful and we're glad we took his advice on potlights and ceiling fans. Eric and his crew showed up early, worked all day and had our re-wire done in two days. They acommodated on-the-fly requests with ease and were pleasant and easy to deal with. The plasterers who came afterwards in commented that the holes Eric had made in the hall and the ceiling were minimal compared to most other electricians they had seen. When it came time for the inspection, Eric arranged his schedule to allow for the ESA inspection to be done on his time, saving us a significant inconvenience.
