Installing doors, painting, refinishing walls etc

John was great. He was very easy to work with and professional. He amazed me at how much he could finish in a day. I had a list of around 10 various jobs from painting trim and doors, refinishing walls and painting the kitchen, installing new closet doors, fixing my exterior door, painting and parging on the outside of the house. I am so happy with his painting and refinishing work. The house feels so much better. I would definitely contact John again in the future.

Basement renovation

John took an old "junk room" and converted to a great finished storage room in the basement - installing walls, flooring, lights, and even a neat little storage cupboard door, so the room looks so organized. Can easily be converted into a functioning office space as well. John completed this project on budget and on time. Great job.

Refinishing deck

John showed up when he said he would and did a very thorough job cleaning our decks front and back with a power washer, then sanding, and finally staining. He brought all the materials needed for the job and left the site clean every evening. He even left a partial can of stain for us to use for touch ups. We were very pleased and will definitely call on him again for handyman work.

dismantling and assembling a shed

Thank you John for the smooth and hassle free way you dismantled the shed that was rotting, and assembled a new shed. The old shed just seemed to disappear, rotten wood and all that went with it! The new shed looks terrific, and I feel reassured that with the raised platform you made, the shed will survive any Canadian winter.

Total main floor renovation

Well John did it again but this time it was a much bigger job! After painting my entire top floor I hired John to complete a total main floor renovation (entirely brand new kitchen (including demoing all the old stuff), convert hall closet to office space, paint for the whole floor: dining room, kitchen and living room, new light fixtures throughout and brand new flooring and base boards throughout). John did a wonderful job and he had to deal with lots of 'interesting' wall and floor angles and electrical/plumbing set ups that come with an old townhouse. John was very professional and courteous even when things got a tad frustrating with all the weird angles etc. I am looking forward to hiring him to repaint my hallways and stairs next... even if I have to wait for him...since he does get busy from time to time... he is worth the wait.

Painting, crown mouldings and other general repairs

John is totally a "Really Handy Guy" What started out as repairing my old stucco ceiling, turned into a main floor total reno, including repairing a big hole in the stucco ceiling (where he assured me I would not know there had been a hole - and he was right!) to painting the entire main floor, and installing great crown moulding. He was patient, courteous and always willing to do all the extra little jobs that I came up with. I really appreciated his commitment to making sure the project was done on time, and he exceeded that by completing it 4 days ahead of schedule! Great job and I will be using John again... Thank you - Darlene

Re-painted and various handyman projects

A fantastic job! I am single living in my family townhouse by inheritance and it definitely is time for an update. The project was to re-paint (ceilings, walls, trim and all closets) for my entire top floor (three bedrooms, bathroom and hall linen closet). In addition John replaced light fixtures, window treatments, electrical outlets, replaced a pedestal sink & faucet, caulking around the bathtub... etc... Oh and how could I forget his great idea to cover the master bedroom closet with fabric as I was tired of the horizontal lines the shutter like doors created. What a great job he did! The price included his labor, all the paint, sink and faucet and all his great touch up jobs (it's incredible how many holes you can put in the walls over the years). He was in and out when he said he would be and was very accommodating when I asked him to do a couple extra touch ups. Being single I felt very safe leaving John in my home to do his work. John is very efficient and has a very good eye for design and handyman work, and I very much appreciate that he works within a budget as I am thinking of the resale value of my home but also know that it is a townhouse that can only sell for so much. I will likely use his services again, next will be the main floor living room and kitchen. Looking forward to it.
