John did a large drywall repair job after a plumber opened our wall to fix a leak in the stack. He spent the full day working on this and we are very happy with the result. Thank you John!

We hired John to repaint a rental condo in between tenancies. He did a phenomenal job at a very competitive price. John was super responsive from the first contact on Homestars and throughout the project. In addition to painting the walls, John proactively fixed some small holes and scratch marks on a couple of doors in the unit, surpassing our expectations. He finished the job on time and left the unit in a pristine condition. It was a pleasure to do business with John, we'll hire him again without hesitation.

I had a garage which was non-functional unplanned, damaged). Luckily I was referred to John by my good friend and neighbour. John, an amiable person and efficient handy guy, not only fixed the issues efficiently but made the rundown garage into a pretty descent one!

John was very responsive to my messages prior to and leading up to completing our job. A breath of fresh air in comparison to other contractors we've sourced in past. Reliability is not always something you can count on in this industry, but super important. This is ultimately why we decided to proceed with John's services. He did a great job with the work itself, finishing quickly. My kids enjoyed having him here as part of our household for the few days of work - he was very friendly and kind to them. Would use John's services at Pretty Handy Guy again and will recommend to others!

John did a great job fixing the paint in my basement, including a portion of the ceiling which is more difficult to reach. He also provided and installed a nice looking removable cover for an unused dryer vent.

Very reliable, multi talented and personable. Excellent quality of workmanship particularly carpentry. He painted a number of rooms and the kitchen cabinets as well as a number other jobs, including building a wine rack to fit in a space in the kitchen.
He also had ideas for what would look good if we were unsure. We have more rooms lined up!

I found John when I looked on Homestars for someone to help with a variety of jobs around our home. John was the only person that I ended up contacting after noting his long successful history with HomeStars, as well as reading his many recent positive reviews on their website. I reached out to John at the beginning of August, and after he came to look at what we needed done, he promptly provided a reasonable written quote. He was aware at the time that I didn't want him to start the job until mid-September so when I contacted him a few weeks later, to set up an actual start date, I was pleased that John kept his word regarding his commitment to my timeline.

The work at our house consisted of a variety of tasks: painting the interior of our home (foyer, kitchen, hallway, bathroom, and three bedrooms); repairing a large hole in the plaster of one of our bedrooms; re-caulking our bathtub; reframing and rehanging an exit door from our garage; exterior paint touch ups that improved the overall appearance of our home. There were a couple of items on my original list that I decided to postpone until a later date and Johns advice, which I specifically asked for, was extremely helpful in coming to that decision.

It is difficult to communicate what a pleasure it was to have John working in our home without repeating words that have already been used by many others: personable, professional, reliable, responsive, skilful, talented, honest, humorous and easy-going. John was all of these and proved to be exactly what I needed, and had hoped for, in order to get the main floor of our home back in shape. I will be calling him again once were ready to tackle our backyard and laundry room. Thanks John!
