“I can't say enough for Gregg, Dean and their team. While mold remediation is not pretty and certainly not what anyone wants to spend their household budget on I am so glad that we did. Initially we had thought we were dealing with a minor mold issue and the re-installation of a basement washroom. Gregg and Dean uncovered two issues when the drywall was removed - a water issue and structural concerns with an extension to the house. Not something that a homeowner wants to hear but I felt 100% confident in the concerns and recommendations of Gregg and Dean and very reassured by their manner. This has multiplied the scope and the budget for this project. Gregg was able to refer me to an excellent waterproofing company (The Waterproofer Inc.) and a contractor that we look forward to working with (The Belyea Brothers). All three companies have a solid working relationship and it gives me great peace of mind to know that they can discuss the project without having to use me as a middle person - although never excluding me and always keeping me fully informed. I feel that there has been a seamless transition to the waterproofing.

When we thought we saw mold in our basement, I snapped a picture with my phone and sent it to Gregg at mold.ca. The response was very prompt, but an official diagnosis couldn't be made without an inspection. The guys showed up exactly on schedule (a pleasant surprise for any Toronto home owner), completed the inspection, confirming our suspicion. We received their quote within the promised 48 hour period (the rate was very reasonable) and scheduled the work. Once again, the guys arrived at exactly the time promised. They were very respectful of our home and took great care to protect our floors. After the work was complete, they placed everything back as they found it and took the time to explain what they had done, and what to watch for in the future. Other than the mold being gone, it was like they had never been there because everything was as it was before. If you suspect mold, don't hesitate to call mold.ca. Gregg and the Mold.ca team were an incredible company to work with. From the very beginning when we set up an appointment to have an estimate done for our project, right to the very end they were very professional and prompt. Our appointment for an estimate was quickly arranged and shortly after we had made our decision, the team showed up to begin the job. The crew was very polite and extremely thorough. They kept the area in front of our house clean – no litter, cigarette butts etc. At the end of every day, Dean or Gregg spoke with us to keep us apprised of how the job was progressing (even showed us pictures) and informed us of anything that may be of concern. When they discovered we had a leaky foundation, Gregg referred us to a waterproofing professional.
We appreciated the fact that there was no hard sell; we were given options on how to proceed with the job and were willing to work with us if we wanted to do some of the work ourselves. (In the end we let them take care of us, as we felt overwhelmed by the scope of the job; and they exceeded our expectations.) All in all, we were extremely impressed with Gregg and the Mold.ca team and feel they are trustworthy and reputable company and would definitely recommend them.

From start to finish, our interaction with Mold.ca was exceptional. A few elements stand out:

Though no one likes to confront a mold issue or incur the associated expenses, Gregg, Dean and the team at Mold.ca made it a highly bearable experience. We would not hesitate to recommend this company.

mold.ca was very impressive at first. They removed mold in 3 rooms in my house. They started on the mud room and Greg emailed me to say they had found vermiculite insulation and this could have asbestos in it. They didn't have the equipment for this, so they left. They didn't give me any advice on what I should do or where to call. Luckily, I found a company who tested the vermiculite. The test was sent away and thankfully there was no asbestos in it. mold.ca put plastic up in ceiling of the mud room before they left, but there was an opening from there to the master bedroom, plus there was a heat vent. Had there been asbestos present, it would have gone throughout the house. I can't even imagine what this would have done to my family's health. I emailed Greg when I received the results of the test to arrange to have them come back and finish the room. I was told they would be happy to come back for $1000 a day. It clearly states on the mold.ca website that they test for asbestos. This certainly wasn't true in my case. I gave them a "1" because they helped me by taking away some garbage that had nothing to do with what they were doing.

After my tenant discovered mold in her bedroom carpet, I arranged for an inspection. Gregg performed a thorough walkthrough of areas likely to be affected, and discovered more mold infestation in the ensuite bathroom. (He also made sensible recommendations for improvements on matters that were not specifically mold-related.)

For mold remediation, he recommended removing small parts of the carpet and some drywall in a couple of places, removing the tub, tiles, and vanity in the bathroom and spraying the area with antifungal chemicals (meant to be safe for humans). (Mold.ca does not do any of the restoration; their job is to remove and dispose of the affected pieces.)

The company submitted a reasonable estimate, and they were quite ready to accomodate a shifting schedule - I was also coordinating with the contractor who was to come and start replacing the elements.

The crew came and performed a professional, clean job in just under one day, taking care not to disturb the occupants more than necessary.

All in all, while I was not happy to deal with the mold itself, I was very satisfied with mold.ca.

We moved into a power of sale house last year and knew the roof would soon need replacing. We noticed this Spring that we had some watermarks on our ceiling and immediately had the roof replaced. We wanted to blow some more insulation into our attic, but my husband was concerned that because there had been some water damage, that the insulation may have become moldy and may need to be removed. I spoke to the company that we were hiring to blow in the insulation and they recommended mold.ca. I am so happy they did! I called Gregg and he responded back very promptly. His price for the inspection was very reasonable and I assumed he would just come and check out our attic. He inspected the ENTIRE house -- the basement, the main floor, our bathroom and the attic. And there was good news! There wasn't a water leak from our roof -- it ended up being the humidifier we had in our son's room (it was a cheapy one from Shoppers that you plugged in and it just kept going until it was empty) and there was too much humidity and it stained the ceiling. Anyway, Gregg gave us a crash course in mold and gave us some tips to prevent any potential issues so we can avoid getting mold in the future. We were very pleased with the report he sent us detailing his findings. He was a great guy, very knowledgeable, reasonably priced and we would not hesitate to recommend this firm.
