We had a very pleasant experience dealing with Blacktop recently. Danny visited the job site shortly after our phone inquiry, provided a quote promotly with detailed scope of work. His crew showed up on time, did a thorough repair with professional tools and equipment. Their end of job cleaning was top notch as well. Certainly experienced in what they do and a very well run company.

I give Burnaby Blacktop 5 stars only because that's the highest number of stars I can give. From the day I contacted Chris for a quote to the day of job completion, I think Chris handled the whole process great . He's is a super nice guy, concerned with job quality and customer satisfaction.

But here is what makes them super great: The day after the job was done, Chris called me to tell me that unfortunately the job cost a lot more than the quote they gave me. However , they would still stick with their quote. I believe that because there were some complications.
I think when a company will honour what they say despite finding out later that they did not make a profit is a company YOU CAN TRUST !!! From now on, I am recommending Burnaby Blacktop to EVERYBODY ! YOU KNOW THEY WILL STICK WITH WHAT THEY TOLD YOU !!!

The driveway to our garage has a grading problem. Every time we drive into the garage, the front of the car will scrape the driveway. We contacted Burnaby Blacktop Ltd. We drove the car back and forth a few times for C*** to make the assessment. C*** explained to us that there are two ways to repave the driveway. One easier and cheaper way is to just pour another layer of asphalt on top of the existing one. But to fix our problem, they will need to dig out the existing driveway and redo it completely. We said we will go with option 2 because the reason we want to redo the driveway is to fix the grounding issue. He quoted us at $3465. In the contract, it specifies that it is to “re-grade driveway to address grounding out by car when parking.” We paid the deposit (50%) which is $1732.5.

They repaved the driveway and ask us to wait 2 days to try the new driveway. On day 3, I tested the driveway. The car still scrapes the driveway exactly as before. If we knew the result was like this, we didn’t need to repave the driveway. We sent burnabyblacktop an email including photos.

Another gentleman showed up at our front door ask to see our driveway. We drove our car and showed the grounding. He said he will get back to us.

C*** called back. We explained that during the quoting process it was promised to us that the grounding issue will be fixed that’s why we decided to repave. We do not think we need to pay the full price since they did not fix the problem at all. C*** suggested us to pay another $2000 dollars so that they can redo it again with a French drain. We do not want to take the risk again with such amount of money. C*** said we still need to pay the full $3465 otherwise he will send our bill to a collection company.

I am appalled by the poor quality of the work and the ignorant attitude of customer service from this company.

Absolutely fantastic customer service and care. The estimation process was seamless, efficient, and reasonable. The communication between signing the contract to getting the work done was very informed and timely. The crew showed up on time and was very reasonable in making small adjustments to ensure the final product was perfect. Overall they were kind, on time, respectful, and surprisingly very clean. I would highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again.

Service from quotation to implementation was great. On site quotation was informative and well defined allowing me to plan ahead with precision and minimal disruption. Site prep and completion was timely and well executed. Great experience!

My parking lot was a muddy mix of old damaged asphalt that made working out in the lot extremely difficult. It was overdue for replacement. They were one of the only companies that would take care of the entire project from start to finish - excavating, ground prep, new curb letdown, concrete retaining wall and asphalt. Andrew was super responsive, knowledgeable and accommodating. The teams were prompt and on-time each day, they were all extremely professional and courteous. The City had various ‘interesting’ requirements, and we made some changes to our original plans along the way.. and Burnaby Blacktop took it in their stride!
We would happily work with Burnaby Blacktop again in the future, and would definitely recommend them.

I worked with Andrew to price some paving and stamped concrete at a new build I was doing in East Van and he couldn’t have been more accommodating. I was that client that kept adding changes, but he rolled with it and at the end of the day Burnaby Blacktop executed and provided me with a beautiful finished product.
