kitchen renovation

We spent a lot of money but we are completely happy with the kitchen renovation done by Monarch. They not only work with you on the design but they arrange everything not just the cabinets, the countertop, the backsplash, the sinks, the taps, etc. They take care of the electrical, the plumbing even removing old appliances after installing the new ones. We couldn't be happier. My wife sometimes even comes down in the middle of the night to admire her new kitchen.

Kitchen renovation

Monarch Kitchens did a wonderful job on our kitchen renovation. The designer, Janet Dawson, did a great job with the design while working within our budget. All the Monarch staff were very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, and got the job done in a timely manner. We had a great experience overall, and I would highly recommend Monarch Kitchens.

Kitchen & Bathroom Renovations

We have recently finalized our renovation project with Monarch Kitchen & Bath and we are more than pleased with the result.
The work involved a complete renovation to the Ensuite Bathroom and Kitchen plus a minor renovation to the second bathroom.
The initial design consultation with Janet was handled in a very professional manner. Detailed drawings and specifications were supplied to us complete with costs for each item of work.
When the work commenced Neil the owner personally supervised the entire renovations so that the problems usually associated with renovation work were kept to a minimum. The renovation was completed on time.
We have no hesitation in recommending Monarch based on the performance of everyone involved throughout the entire process.

Assisted Review

An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.

Kitchen renovation

We had Monarch Kitchens do a complete kitchen remodel for us in 2010 and I cannot say enough about the service we received. Prior to choosing which company to do our kitchen renovation, we had visited 3 others but upon meeting with Kevin Samson, the designer, I was immediately confident that by picking Monarch I would be making the right decision. This was exactly experience in the end.
Kevin was extremely patient, listened to my likes and dislikes along with providing various suggestions and options to consider. Unlike any of the other companies Kevin was the only one who came to our home prior to completing an estimate. I had an interested in going with light cabinetry in a kitchen that was located in the middle of the home with only one window. Working with Kevin the design was finalized and over a 6 week period the old kitchen was completed gutted and transformed into a beautiful working kitchen with light maple cupboards, quartz countertop, built in wine rack, several pot drawers, etc. The service was excellent and everyone we dealt with was most professional and helpful at all times.
We had a problem with a door on the garbage bin which started to come loose and Neil attended immediately and reattached it and it has never been a problem since.
In February 2016, almost 6 years after the installation, we discovered a water leak in our basement. Thinking it was from the water line to the frig that was installed by Monarch we contacted them and within 15 minutes Neil attended our residence, determined it was not the water line after all, but coming from the laundry tub. He offered to call his plumber who called back the same day and attended our residence within a couple of hours, located and repaired the leak right away for a small fee which we gladly paid having just sold our home.
At the time of selling our home, which was on the market for one week, the kitchen was the talk of everyone who attended to view it. There is no question the kitchen helped with the sale of our home at $50,000 over asking.
Thank you to Kevin, Neil, and everyone at Monarch for their excellent customer service and commitment to excellence. We would recommended this company to anyone wishing to do renovations.
Thanks again for everything,
Wenda and Richard

Dream Laundry Room - Full install - On Main floor. Cabinets, plumbing, electrical, and more

We considered several contractors for our laundry room project on the main floor of our home, and narrowed down the final quotes to two firms: The Home Depot, and Monarch Kitchen and Bath Centre Ltd. We ultimately decided on Monarch Kitchen and Bath Centre Ltd for the following reasons:

1. Their initial design and estimate process for quotation was thorough, and they helped convey the value of the project in an easy to understand manner.

2. They understood our needs for the laundry room, and balanced that with our goals for our home.

3. Monarch presented their plan in a detailed, and concise way - including taking the time to draft two design options.

4. Two of my neighbours had used Monarch and provided an endorsement for their high standards of workmanship, and customer service.

Getting Started / Design Process:

Shortly following the in home consultation, we met at Monarch’s showroom to review the initial drawings. Our designer Janet was quite hospitable and walked us through her designs which were created based on my wife and I describing what we thought we needed in the laundry room, and what would like in our dream laundry room. In the end, we chose the more elaborate design with increased storage and cabinet space - more of a dream scenario – partly because Janet conveyed the value that a well designed laundry room could generate towards the value of a home.

In the following weeks my wife met with Janet to review cabinet material, hardware, etc. In that time we also received a professional project plan from Kelley at head office, which would serve as a timeline, and budget guideline. It was very nice to have a well formatted scope document that we could later refer to if there were any questions or confusion about what was discussed / included in the quotation. For instance, we later decided to add some additional timers and home automation, including upgrading the light switches in the laundry room to automatic room sensors – a must have for under cabinet lighting – and Monarch made all the arrangements – including bringing in their skilled electrician Vicky to get the extra work done and allow other trades to continue humming along.

We reserved the painting portion of the project to save a few bucks (my idea – not my wife’s). It was actually a false savings as it ended up eating my time plus I changed the paint colour on the walls once the cabinets were installed. In retrospect, I really should have left this to Monarch.

Of course, it is unrealistic to think that nothing could go wrong along the way. We did have a few minor issues. What I was impressed with the most is the responsiveness from this company; options were always discussed for remedy, and the owner (Neil) was absolutely fair about associated costs.

We really loved Mike (our installer) he has a heart made of gold - and really helped us understand the process along the way. He suggested the best idea of the design (in my opinion)- rolling wheels for the dryer / washer combo stack. It worked!! Now if I have to get behind the machine to clean or access the water/gas - I can by myself!

In summary, I would definitely recommend Monarch Kitchen and Bath for your next project.

Major kitchen, bathroom and residential renovation

We recently completed a major renovation project of an older home in Toronto (East York). Monarch was one of several companies that we brought in to provide a quote for the project, and although several were well qualified, what impressed us with Monarch was their full service approach and long-standing reputation for excellence and high standards.

Make no mistake - this was a challenging project and was beyond the scope of a typical kitchen or bathroom renovation in a more recent subdivision home, and Monarch managed and executed the project very well.

From the very outset, Monarch's designer Janet was hands-on and very involved in working with us to choose finishes that would suit our design sense. At the same time, she created original designs for challenging spaces that were frankly masterful and which we don't believe others would have been able to execute on our behalf.

What made our experience with Monarch so incredible wasn't just the general quality of the work (which was high), but their accessibility, communication and punctuality. All trades and components were meticulously scheduled and organized by Monarch, and always showed up when they were supposed to. When issues arose that resulted in delays, these were thoroughly explained and action plans implemented. Additional costs were discussed prior to work, alternatives considered, and any fees meticulously invoiced and tracked. As I was coordinating many other trades as part of the overall project, Monarch's back office support was invaluable, especially the ongoing coordination from Kelly and Melissa. It truly felt as though I had access to a whole team of specialists on any issue that arose.

Make no mistake, issues did come up, as they will on any project. Nevertheless, Neil, Monarch's principal, was able to visit the site several times per week during construction and usually called me with updates and to discuss issues and changes well before I had a chance to. He was also always available and responsive - and what issues that emerged did not go unresolved for long! They stand by their work and don't hesitate to make sure that problems that come up after completion are dealt with.

Above all else, Monarch performed a challenging and changing renovation to a high degree of quality and with exemplary support and communication. At a cost that is competitive with many of their competitors specializing in bath & kitchen renovations, Monarch is an outstanding choice for a home of any age.

Main Bathroom Reno

We needed our main bathroom updated - we wanted a walk-in shower and to make the room more modern/contemporary. We also wanted to add in a grab bar for safety reasons, to have insert bath shelves as opposed to a shelving unit and a small bench. We had previously had Monarch in to do a kitchen, laundry room, hallway reno and were extremely pleased with their work, professionalism and care that they took so we did a "repeat business" and we are completely satisfied.
