Muhammad Akram IMHO sets the standard for pest control, especially concerning bedbugs. Other PCOs I've dealt with gladly had me pay BIG money, then sprayed without inspection or any evidence.
Muhammad inspected for evidence in my case and didn't find any so I only payed $80.00 for an inspection.

Totally paranoid that we had bedbugs at our chalet after a guest from BC had been bitten several times I contacted Muhammad Akram. I sent him pictures of the bites, emailed him several times and actually dropped off at his business any bug looking thing I had bagged during my 4 days of cleaning. He responded in a timely fashion by email or phone to all of my distress calls! Turns out my bagged bugs were apple seeds and harmless bugs. HUGE sense of relief. I did figure out the bites were from fleas carried in by our dog - which we were able to eliminate by ourselves.
I wouldn't hestitate a nano second to contact Muhammed again...I just hope I never have to. He truly is terrific!

We found that we had quite a large infestation of bedbugs in two bedrooms last summer.

Fortunately, we called Muhammad Akram first and he responded very quickly, coming over the same day and starting treatment 2 days later. He was knowledgeable, thorough, and very detailed-oriented. He gave us a clear analysis of the situation. He showed us what to look for in terms of bugs, their eggs and marks of droppings. We were happy that his approach is to do a very thorough treatment, with follow-ups, as we did not want there to be any chance of recurrence (as far as possible). It has now been 6 months and there have been no signs.

As we were going through this we found that neighbours also had bedbugs. They had used another company which had sprayed a number of times over the prior 5 months. They had spent considerable money and were at their wit's end about the problem. We suggested Mr. Akram and he managed to clear their entire house as well.

One piece of advice we’d give would be to decide at the beginning which furniture to keep and have treated by Mr. Akram, and which to throw out and replace. We ended up
having him treat some pieces that we then threw out which wasted time, effort and money. Talk to him up front, listen to his advice and then decide. (e.g. he advised throwing out bed slats, which take a long time to treat, but we didn’t, then later found replacements at Ikea).

Overall, be prepared for lots of work (moving furniture, cleaning) and expense. Having bedbugs was a major event, in terms of time and money. If this is happening to you, remember that you will get through it, and it does end if you have a professional like Mohammed Akram on your side.

My experience has been good, and certainly hope it is my last! My family and I noticed that there were bump marks on our arms and came to the conclusion that it was bed bugs! Thankfully there wasn't alot and Pest Solution Services got rid of them quickly and thoroughly-inspected every niche and nook! The bugs never came back or I highly recommend this company!

Our daughter, after travelling, found bedbugs in he rbed slats. We were horrified and worried, but luckily it had not spread to any other areas of the house. We called a reputable company that has great ratings on Homestars. They came in, fumigated, didn't properly explain what they used and fogged my baby's bedroom with chemicals. There were no bedbugs for a couple days and then they came back in EVERY bedroom. It was a nightmare. We were devastated - not only had we put our family at risk with the sprays but the problem was so much worse. We decided to cancel the second treatment from the highly rated first company and call Mohammed.

There is really no point in calling anyone else. Mohammed is thorough, careful and meticulous. He came to check out the problem and then came back and spent hours and hours at the house vacuuming, steaming and spraying. He took our furniture apart and checked every seam and crevice. Mohammed took off the quarter round in all the rooms and checked for bugs. He avoided using chemicals in my baby's room for health reasons and carefully steamed and vacuumed his bed, baseboards and furniture. After that one treatment, we never saw another live bedbug in our house.

Mohammed came back after 10 days and put a long lasting chemical behind the baseboards. My daughter was traumatized and nervous after the whole experience and we called him one more time to check her room so she could have peace of mind. He took her worries seriously and checked very carefully but found nothing.

If you have bedbugs, please do not make the same mistake that we did. Call Mohammed. If we had called Mohammed first, we would have saved an enormous amount of time, money and anxiety. Any company that just sprays for bedbugs will not solve your problem.

This was our first (and, I'm certain, last) experience with the vile little blood-suckers. For about a week or so, my wife and I had been waking up with a few odd, small welts, often occurring in a line of three. A short time after, I caught a strange bug trundling it's way along our bed comforter. A quick dash to the internet confirmed our fears. It was a bedbug. In a panic, we contacted a handful of exterminators and were certain we would be out for thousands of dollars to rid ourselves of this bedbug menace. The first company to provide an inspection I'll refer to as Company X. I was told by these "experts" that the bedbugs, which they found no hard evidence of apart from the one I had somehow managed to capture myself, would "contaminate" us with their bites. They also falsely insisted that the underside of our baby's mattress cover was full of eggs and attempted to promptly dispose of it. They were ready to let us spend thousands of dollars on a full-house heat treatment without any real evidence of an infestation.

Fortunately for us, we had also contacted Muhammad Akram of Pest Solution Services. He arrived shortly after Company X had departed and the contrast was palpable. From the start he was polite, friendly and professional in every way. He conducted an inch-by-inch inspection of the suspect rooms and furniture in our house. All the while, he explained what he was doing, what he was looking for, and educated us about bedbugs. He immediately identified the sex and life-stage of the bedbug I had caught and bagged.

Although we had originally thought the bedbugs were in our bedroom, they had actually found a home on our living room couch. Muhammad found eggs, feces, nymphs and a blood-fat female within moments of starting the living room inspection. Company X's 10 second probe of the couch involved removing the top cushions and jamming a hand down between the upright and seat. They then proclaimed it clean. Yes, the couch is clean but our baby's mattess cover is full of eggs, right? I showed Muhammad the mattress cover which I had prevented Company X from disposing of. There were no eggs. Nothing was wrong with it at all.

Muhammad recommended a steam treatment of the couch and a mild pesticide application in gaps under the baseboard quarter-round. In the end, he opted not to use the pesticide deeming it unnecessary for the scope of our infestation. He assured us that his treatment would eliminate the problem and was true to his word. They're gone. He even provided a follow-up call a short time after to see how we were doing.

Muhammad never to tried to sell us services or products we didn't require. His method is simple - find the evidence, show you the evidence, and devise a treatment to suit the scope of the problem. His professionalism, honesty, and education as an Entomologist truly make him the one you want in a situation like this. I chose not to give the true name of Company X because it's irrelevant. The only name you require is Muhammad Akram.

We used Pest Solution Services for bed bugs treatment. While interviewing various companies we found that in difference to other companies they add dry steam prior to chemical application, this is a step recommended by Government agencies. We noticed that Muhammad worked diligently to examine and treat every nook and cranny. While other companies stated that their total time to treat a whole house will be one hour, Muhammad worked mostly on a section of the second floor for about 3.5 -4 hours.

This is going to be long but if you are as traumatized as I was by the discovery that you are housing bed bugs, then you'll probably appreciate it. Within three weeks of living in our new (1.5 year old) condo rental, I discovered a bed bug casually perched on a baseboard. I immediately killed and saved it. Within the following weeks my partner and I were finding and killing 5-10 baby bedbugs per day in different rooms of the unit -- living room, den, bathroom, and finally, bedroom. From what my research told me, this was highly unusual. Our bed was clean and we were not getting bites, which is fortunate because we have an 8 month old baby.

We went through a painful couple of weeks -- our landlords blamed us, accused us of finding a dead bug and planting it, you name the harassment and we were subject to it. The condo property management uses a big-name company and when I found out, I was devastated. The big-name company generally require multiple treatments to "control" the problem -- since we have a baby, this would mean extensive unit preparation and 24-48 hours in a hotel for our family every two weeks until the problem was solved, which could potentially take months -- we were facing an incredibly expensive, disruptive and traumatic experience.
The PCO from the big-name who came to inspect our unit only heightened my anxiety about working with his company. He delayed our treatment process by a week -- he took my number and said he would call me to schedule an appointment and never did. I found out that this is apparently against their policy. We received several documents on treatment preparations (that I had to forcibly track down from building management) but with conflicting directions -- one page said to bag everything, another said not to. One said to steam our furniture in advance, another said that the PCO would do this. No one would get back to us with clear instructions and finally when one representative (and one sheet of paper) confirmed that we would need to thoroughly vaccuum baseboards daily after the treatment (not possible without daily childcare) we cut our ties with the big-name and decided to call Muhammad with Pest Solution Services.

From the moment I called Muhammad, I truly felt that we had found a solution and a solution is genuinely what Muhammad offers, not "pest control" but "pest solutions". When I asked Muhammad about the daily baseboard vacuuming, he chuckled and said "why would you need to do that? when I do my job, the bugs are gone. there is nothing left to vacuum." He explained that our case was particularly challenging since the bugs were in all of the rooms and not just in the bedroom and his fees for this kind of work were higher than normal. His price was higher than the big-names in the short-term but not in the long-term if you count the outrageous expenses of multiple treatments we could have faced from the other company -- in that case, Muhammad's fees are low. Muhammad sent us clear instructions on unit preparation and explained his experience and use of minimal chemicals around children. All of this was great news to us. We finally felt calm, like a solution was truly in our future. Our landlords, even after explaining the cost breakdown, were taken by the big-name of the big-name company. We finally offered to pay for the treatment ourselves as long as we could go with Muhammad. They could not say no to that. As soon as Muhammad arrived, it felt as though the nightmare was over. We felt taken care of. He did a thorough inspection, over-turning ever single piece of furniture -- he even removed the door-stops to check inside of them. He could not find evidence of bugs in our furniture or in any of the usual places. He said that never in his life had he seen something like this, but with that being the case, Muhammad's expertise was enough for him to eradicate our problem. He steamed and vacuumed our carpeted bedroom (a breeding ground for bugs), he steamed our mattress and bed furniture. I believe he used a pheromone to draw the bugs out from under the baseboard. He then sprayed all of the baseboard, the closets, every single crack and crevice. He could not find any living bugs at this point (he would have killed whatever was in the carpet) but he did find the molted skins of the bugs in the baseboards outside of the bedroom, on the ceiling of the bedroom closet and inside our heating-tank encasement in the living room. He used a residual dust in all of these areas and more -- behind the electronic socket covers, switchplates, our bedframe, in the area near the heating tank. I even found some dust on a corner between a utility cupboard and the ceiling. After the treatment, we stopped seeing the bugs but were concerned about some marks. Mohammad returned for a prompt follow-up when my neurosis got the best of me. I believe I was scratching old bites, but we inspected the unit again and had him install bed bug moats for our bed and our baby's crib as well as the latest technology in bed bug monitors that use C02 and two kinds of pheremones to attract the bedbugs -- these detectors have a better detection rate than expensive dogs. We were also able to purchase mattress encasements (even for a crib) through Muhammad. Other than a recommendation to use double-sided tape on the back of the monitors (they are as sticky as advertised, it turns out) we are completely satisfied. Muhammad went over-the-top to help give us a solution and then peace of mind after. He understands the trauma of bedbugs and was happy to indulge my obsession with them in detailed conversation about their breeding habits and neurological function. Ultimately, with his beyond-thorough inspection, he was able to give us his professional interpretation of what had happened in our unit -- it was most likely the previous tenant who unknowingly had the bugs and when she moved out (this could have been by moving the bed frame or mattress out the door while moving out) their nest was disturbed and they scattered, then bred -- as bed bugs apparently do. Muhammad is the best there is.

When we discovered bedbugs in our house we called a company who just sprayed our baseboards. After two more sprays, we still had a problem. I called PSS in a panic. Muhammad Akram came to do a thorough inspection of the house and found where the bugs were hiding. He spent 8 hours examining behind shelves, baseboards, and in wall sockets and carefully removed the eggs. He explained every step, showed us what he had found and then he sprayed. He returned 10 days later to follow up, inspect again and injected a long lasting behind the baseboards. He was always available to answer questions, even when I called in the evening or on weekends. Muhammad was punctual, very knowledgeable and compassionate. I recommend him very highly!

A few weeks ago my wife and I started noticing bites and after a week or so came to the conclusion in might be bed bugs. After calling Orkin (my condo's reco) and a few other places that offered the "heat treatment" and either not hearing back or reading bad reviews I came across PSS and Mohammad on Home Stars.

All I can say is that I am extremely happy the other guys took a few days to call me back. Mohammad returned my call with 10 minutes and scheduled an appointment immediately. He came to our place and my wife showed him a bug we had found and kept in a ziploc (highly recommend you do this if you find one...don't kill it and throw it out. capture it, put it in a ziploc and show it to him. He can immediately identify the bug and crazy enough male/female etc etc).

He then told us exactly what we needed to do and came back two days later (on a Sunday) and did the treatment. He spent the entire day from 10am to 6pm inspecting and treating every square inch of our apartment and every item in it.

Unlike other bed bug places, Mohammad is EXTREMELY thorough and clearly passionate about finding the problem/source and solving it with ONE visit.

Since his visit we have been bug free. He schedules a follow up a few weeks later and stays in touch to make sure things are good. My wife and I still had a little concern so when he came back he gave us 3 bed bug detectors that he installed around our bedroom that we could check to give us peace of mind (if you have had to deal with bed bugs you will know that the mental strain is the worst part). The detectors did just that and now we know we are bug free.
