Real Pros

Scotty from Gord's Electric was a real pro. He helped me figure out some DIY electrical the previous owner had done that could have been dangerous, and pointed me in the right direction. Very knowledgeable and professional and overall just a really good experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get an electrical job done right!

Electrical repair

Called Scott and left a message about a new receptical I tried to put in. It fried my popcorn machine after I wired it wrong. He answered my call in short time. Very pleasant guy. He came not long after. Spotted the problem right off. Fixed the plug. I ended up letting him change the other plugs in the kitchen as well
I’m a satisfied customer

Breaker Box inspection, receptacle replacement

Scott came out to our house to look at a blown line, and inspect our panel to see if we had more room for some additional lines in our basement. While there he noticed the receptacle for our sump pump was on a GFI. He swapped it out quickly for us to ensure it didn't trip and leave us with a flooded basement.

Overall a great experience!

Installation of Kitchen Potlights

To help update our kitchen and improve the lighting, I emailed Scotty from Gord's Electric to describe my project. He responded in a timely manner and we set up a consultation meeting. During the consultation meeting, I added on a few more jobs and he was extremely accommodating. Scotty took the time to explain the scope of the work, materials he would be using and other details we should think about as well. Scotty is extremely thorough, knowledgeable and considerate (he wore a mask the entire time in our home). I am extremely pleased with the work he completed. He even took the time to recommend a reliable contractor to repair our drywall on the ceiling (due to the potlight installation) when no one would respond to my inquiries. I would not hesitate to hire Gord's Electric again! Highly recommend him!

Electrical panel & Exterior Lighting

Scott responded promptly to our inquiry to replace exterior lights and clearly advised of his rates for service. Although he has a busy schedule, he was available within a reasonable time to do the job. On the day of his arrival, just as Scott was pulling in the driveway and before we had met him, our electrical panel in the house began to randomly overheat. He recognized the burning smell & inspected the panel right away, making recommendations for immediate safety and the process to fix it. Scott agreed to finish the lights as planned, and obtain proper permits, liaison with hydro company, and purchase parts for the panel. We were happy that he was able to make time for this important and lengthy repair and followed all legal and safety protocols in relation to both the electrical work and the current Covid situation. Invoices were detailed, accurate and timely. Thank you, Scott, for your time and professionalism.

Several Electrical Projects

After thorough research of various companies, I hired Gord's Electric to complete several electrical projects. Scott called me to discuss the work, which included replacing outdoor lights, installing a new receptacle in the garage, and replacing a ceiling fan in the kitchen. I was impressed by the fact that Scott wanted me to send him photos of the various items to ensure that they would meet specs. Scott is thoroughly professional, very efficient, and very friendly. When all of the work could not be completed in one visit, Scott promptly installed a temporary lamp in the kitchen, which proved to be very satisfactory until his next visit. I am completely impressed with Scott's work, and will hire Gord's Electric again in the future!

Upgraded my 100 amp panel to a 200 amp panel, installed a Whole Surge protector, moved and upgraded one receptacle and added 3 additional circuts.

Scott upgraded my 100 amp panel to a 200 amp panel, installed a Whole Surge protector, moved and upgraded one receptacle and added 3 additional circuits. The smaller jobs were done as separate estimates. Though a one man shop, his invoices were detailed enough to understand what was done. Parts were separated from labour on the invoice and the hourly rate was given when asked for.

On the panel upgrade, he asked for a deposit to cover the parts and when it was discovered that a few parts did not need to be replaced, the final invoice was adjusted.

He responded to all of my texts and emails in a timely business manner, and answered some extra detailed questions. Sometimes, he phoned and verbally clarified to ensure the proper interpretation of our communication. When recording his time, he was transparent and informative.

Scott was meticulous, thorough and neat in all of the work he did.

I am very pleased with the work Scott did and if needed would hire him again.

There were a few prep , non- electrical actions, I was able to do to lessen Scott's time on the job.

Do note that when Scott is on the clock, on site keep your own non-business talk to a minimum as his time is your money. Scott will Not engage you in small talk to earn more however if you initiate, he will be polite and listen and chat.
