Under The Sun Ecological Landscaping

I called Sal at Under the Sun Ecological Landscaping based on a referral from a friend. I like the work they did on their property and heard many good things about Sal and his crew. The stone wall holding up my front yard was falling apart. Sal gave me the best price estimate so we went ahead with the job. I'm glad we did because it looks great and it was done quickly, and on budget.

We were thrilled to find Under the Sun Landscaping for a fairly large project in our backyard. We had Sal and his crew regrade our entire backyard. This required using 4x4 cedar posts buried to reinforce the earth. Sal was efficient, ecologically minded which was important to us and did a great job. He was a wonderful person to have on site, my two children loved having him here! 10/10!! I would highly recommend Under the Sun Ecological Landscaping for any project!! We look forward to having them come back to do our newest project this spring!

Our Parkdale backyard was an unruly mess of concrete, overgrown weed-trees, broken glass from a previous tool shed, and uneven grassy patches so we called Sal and crew in to clear some space for our kids (2 & 5 years old) to safely play in. Under the Sun Ecological Landscaping built a gorgeous cedar fence to separate our yard from the neighbour's. Then they broke down the concrete and carried it out. Sal's knowledge of fauna & flora helped us determine which trees to keep and which were just garbage. We also designated an area for patio stones to entertain on. Within days the kids had a gorgeous sodded lawn to play soccer and tumble on. Running through the sprinkler and having friends over for BBQs became our summertime ritual. Sal's crew is professional, courteous and tidy. Sal is reliable, communicative and knowledgeable. Most importantly, he worked within our budget and understood our needs. Highly recommend.

We have had a number of jobs done by Under the Sun Ecological Landscaping over the past couple of years, including the construction of a large deck and a small patio. The work has always been great and it has been a pleasure to deal with Sal and his crew.

Sal was referred to me as the company I originally contacted did not perform hardscape in addition to landscaping. I am so glad that I was referred to Sal. From our first meeting to our last, Sal was the consummate professional. He asked questions to get a sense of my vision, which he understood and took to another level. We collaborated; he made recommendations complete with plant descriptions and explanations. Once we were in agreement, Sal completed a mock-up of the design and I could not wait to see the real thing. He transformed a nondescript ivy-covered ground to a beautiful garden with native flora accented by a curved pathway and steps. It was curb appeal beyond what I had envisioned. He set the bar so much so neighbours followed suit by transforming their own front yards. Certainly a complement and testament to the great job he did. Working with Sal at Under the Sun Ecological Landscaping was a pleasure. Sal provided us with a clear estimate, along with a nice design for our backyard that we wanted to transform from a neglected space into an urban oasis, filled with native plants, including edible varieties. The work commenced on time, proceeded without problems or delay and finished on schedule too. The workers were courteous and pleasant to have in the backyard and Sal was always responsive to our questions and knowledgeable about the different plants we could choose from. We were thrilled with the final results and now enjoy sitting in our backyard, under the shade of the tree. Working with Sal was so positive, that often we'll remark that it would be nice if Sal worked in other areas (plumbing, renovations--you name it) so we could hire his company to do more work around our home.

"Under the Sun" did an amazing restoration of my Victorian Cabbagetown front porch and walkway as well as my backyard courtyard. We used composite decking for the front walkout and steps, cobble stone for the path and 6x6 cedar timbers for the retaining walls. The materials and colour selections blended beautifully with each other and the Victorian style of the house. After some minor issues with the porch, Sal was sure to send somebody to remedy the situation promptly. I would recommend Under the Sun to anyone looking for a landscaping company that pays close attention to detail for a reasonable cost.

We used Under the Sun Landscaping to completely re-landscape both our front and back lawns. The service and their prices were excellent. Our job was quite extensive and now our property looks so much better. They were delightful to work with. They finished the job on time and on budget. We had them work on a few other things since. We would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again in the future. We had another quote from another company and their price was over double what we paid to Under the Sun.
