Jason and his team Jamie and Brad responded to my online request in 24 hours. Jamie called and Brad was there in an hour. There were some issues with the fascia fit which was my problem and they came back the next day and got the repair done after adjusting the piece in their shop. It was at the peak of a 3 story home so a bit of a challenge. I could not find another firm in the city to do it. The price was their minimum for a call so although high, was understandable. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend the team at Kovar.

In January 2019 we had Kovar contracting renovate our upstairs. Had our old carpets removed and they installed hardwood floors new doors and trim with new updated baseboards and fresh paint. The upstairs is an amazing transformation with a new stair railing as well!
End of March we had the team come back to renovate our old basement. From head to toe it was redone! It looks like we live in a brand w home now! Kevin, Chuck and Brad are a great team and work hard!

We had Kovar in for two projects that involved our attic. Prior to the work being done Jason was very responsive to all questions and concerns I had.

They first came in and fixed the way our bathroom fans were venting. They were originally venting into the soffit vent which was causing moister and mold in the attic. Kovar added two exhaust terminations to the roof for our bathrooms as well as replacing the fans with new ones we provided.
The next day Scott and his team came to air seal the attic and top up the insulation.

Overall we’re very happy with the work they did. We no longer have condensation in the bathroom during showers, and the insulation job has left our top level feeling much more comfortable on cold days.

I received quick estimate and jobs were done quickly and professionally. I will use them again.

I required a siding repair from storm damage. I contacted Kovar via their website and someone was in touch with the very next day to tell me about their service and to set up an assessment appointment. The assessment was complete the next day and work was complete within the week. Service from Jason and Alex was alway prompt and courteous. I have already recommended this company to friends and will most certainly call them first next time I need a home repair.

We recently required some unexpected repair and replacement work done for our eavestroughs and fascia. Alex from Kovar Contracting came out the day after I called them to give us a quote and had the work done before a couple of companies even returned my call. He went beyond our expectations providing excellent work. He was friendly, helpful and very pleasant to work with. I would definitely recommend him. We contracted Kovar Contracting Inc. to reclad our home in vinyl siding after appropriate repairs to the exterior walls and installing 0.75” insulation, as well as redo all of the eaves – in essence, to ensure the envelope of the house for the next 20 years (windows were replaced earlier this year).

He also replaced our 25-year old wood deck with Azek decking materials and shingled the roof.

We are thrilled with the house’s ‘facelift’.

We are extremely confident that the exterior of the house is now secure and enjoy our new backyard surrounds immensely. Jason took the time to walk us through our choices of siding & shingle colour sand made valuable observations in guiding us in our final choice.

Jason’s siding/eaves contractor, Alex, did most of the work by himself. It was reassuring knowing that all aspects of the job were literally overseen by him personally. Alex ordered materials beyond the scope of the job to ensure that there would be no surprises to delay the completion of the project.

Both Alex and Ben (carpenter) impressed us with their meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Alex always gave us sound advice re: which trims would look best, how to deal with difficult drainage etc. He always arrived early and left late; he seemed to work non-stop.

Back for more! We decided to give the Kovar crew another try following the great work they did on our gutters/soffit/fascia back in 2016. This time we trusted them with finishing a 400sqft space in the basement --- framing, insulating, drywalling and painting the concrete walls plus creating a 12'x 6' pantry with a drop ceiling. Once again the quoting process was straight forward --- no fluff, no gold plating or pushing for services we didn't need or ask. Getting the job started took some time as they had a few jobs on the go; plus they juggle a few at a time. Communication was a bit tricky a times but otherwise a great experience -- on time and budget. These guys are very easy going and honest. Job site cleaned every night. Thanks Jason, Kevin and Chuck!

We had an emergency situation with ice damning on our roof that was causing a leak in the kitchen. We reached out three companies we found online. Kovar was head and shoulders above the rest. Quick response to our inquiry, showed up on time and did great work. Well done!

A cheap, low-profile roof vent became filled with snow, which melted and left a wet spot on our ceiling. A repair person came to inspect, and recommended replacing the vent with a higher-quality one. The company let me buy the part myself from Home Depot, and the repair person installed it, deducting the cost from the final bill.

So far, I'm quite happy with the quality of the work!
