Fairbairn Home And Building Inspection

My wife and I hired David Fairbairn to inspect a house we were considering purchasing. I found him to be personable and professional throughout. He provided a comprehensive same day report on the condition of the property. He also provided additional information and tips during the inspection.

David was awesome. Very preofessional, punctual, knowledgable and easy going. Not only was the inspection very thorough, he also took time to go over the strata minute and engineering report. We would recommand David to anyone.

David was honest, detailed oriented and thorough. He went to the all the area, including the roof, attic, even places that were hard to get to. He prioritized the items that needed to be addressed, gave us the estimated cost for each items and showed us the area that needed attention. He showed us the area that needed more insulation with the thermo imaging. He walked us through the house and explained the major items. He took the time to explain how to read his report. This all gave us more confident in the house that we were buying. You can tell that he has a passion in inspecting houses. I would highly recommend David and would use him for the next house inspection.

David was quick to respond when I needed an inspector. He was very professional and explained things in a simple way. He identified issues and offered to talk with Strata President if needed. David found some crack vents in our roof and also in some neighbours took pictures to show location.
David provided us solutions and estimated budget for things that have to fixed and or replaced.

Prior to the inspection, David was very responsive to the several calls I made to him to clarify his services, fees and logistic arrangements.

On inspection day, he was punctual and went quickly to work. He spent ~4 hours inspecting my (about to be bought) house from top (he literally climbed on the roof) to bottom (went down to the nooks and crannies).

He found >10 things I wouldn't event had noticed and engaged the builder professionally onsite right after the inspection about them. I used his detailed report afterward to ensure the builder would remedy all the findings moving forward.

Having David inspect our home was a terrific experience. He was punctual, courteous and very thorough! We were having a problem with high heating bills and he found that portions of our home were uninsulated. He also provided a document of all the issues he found along with pictures and recommendations. Would definitely recommend him!
