Have used Dave's services 3 times - last was for a basement bathroom; exceptional service. We are very pleased with the workmanship, and knowledge he passed on to his apprentices.

The previous times was for a leaky shower, which he was able to find parts for and repair, and the first time was for a nasty blockage in the master bathroom.

I had a flood in my place and need to get the plumber to find out if it was the plumbing or the washer. It was the washer but because of the age I could see that I needed to upgrade. Dave did this over two days and now I feel comfortable that I won't have any issues again for a long time. He came quickly and returned to finished the job the next day when we decided to do additional work. He kept me informed at each step and I feel that he went above and beyond. I have his business card handy and if I ever need and plumber again I will call Durham Plumbing.

Sewer line access caps in my basement were broken open by previous owner and stuffed with rags. We had a big rainfall and the basement floor was covered with a half inch of muddy water. I was able to do clean up but we needed to fix the source. I called locals, Durham Plumbing. Owner Dave Axworthy answered the phone, problem-solved with me over the phone and by text. He gave me the options, didn't try to up sell me, even recommended the simplest, most cost effective fix. The next day he and his apprentice were at our house, worked fast and effectively, cleanly installed caps and ball valve drain, no mess. They were friendly and professional. And all at a fair price. Will definitely call them again. In fact, Dave is pricing out a new hot water tank install for a future date - at my request.

Dave showed up on time, did the job professionally and quickly. It was not a straightforward job. Some cast iron pipe had to be cut out and the lead fixture removed, all replaced with ABS.

He explained everything, reviewed options: obviously knew what he was doing. He laid down floor protection, they wore the fabric booties over their shoes, they cleaned up after themselves. He even noticed an issue with my dryer vent and fixed that!

I also liked that he had an apprentice. Perpetuating the trade. Something that many journeymen don't do.

I would highly recommend Dave for any plumbing work!

Our hot water temperature was slowly turning to lukewarm, so I had David come in to replace the hot water mixing valve that the builder installed 5 years ago. Now we have hot water again! David and his crew are top notch. They showed up on time, did professional work, cleaned up nicely, and explained everything that was done. You know they are professional when they show up with boot covers and floor mats. And David always answers the phone when I call. Extremely satisfied customer!!

David is top notch! He responded quickly, was forthright about costing, showed up on time ( even early), did great job and cleaned up after. I had several questions and he was really good at responding quickly via email. It was the week before XMas and didn't think we would be able to book anyone but he committed he could and would and did! I would definitely hire him again should I need any plumbing done by a total professional!

I needed to have a 50 year old bathroom gutted and replaced in my family home prior to putting it on the market. As I don't live in the area, I turned to Homestars for recommendations. So glad I did, as I found Durham Plumbing. Dave did an excellent job on the Reno, supplying and installing the new fixtures, tiles, and flooring. He and his team worked hard to complete the job in a timely manner. Would recommend without hesitation.

Dave was prompt and professional in replying to our phone request. He fixed the shoddy job of a previous, lazy tiler who washed extra grout down the the drain. Dave diagnosed the problem and worked neatly and methodically to fix the problem. He prepared the area carefully by covering everything and removing an expensive shower door. After fixing the drain, he finished the job by re-tiling the floor. It looks better than before! He cleaned up his mess every day. We would highly recommend this reliable plumber!

We do not normally hire contractors and are more dyi but we were putting in a new bathroom and moving the laundry room. We were under a building permit so the plumbing had to be right. Tapping into the main sewer line was not something to "try". I looked at the reviews on HomeStars and Dave's name came up. He responded to our call in a timely manner, showed up on time to meet with us and spent numerous hours with us before starting work. They started the project and left the
workspace clean at the end of each day.
Dave dealt with the building inspector
during each stage and passed each stage on the first visit. Our project went over several months, Dave doing the rough in for the sink, toilet and shower, us taking on the tiling, drywalling, etc. When it was time for Dave to return to set the toilet, sink and our "uber" shower system, he did so within a few days of us calling. Dave and his team do an outstanding job during every aspect of this project. Dave takes alot of pride in his work and did an outstanding job.
