We were having problems with igniting our gas fireplace. It had been 10 yrs since it had been serviced.
When Jeremy arrived he explained the likely cause and started working immediately. A thorough cleaning and one small replacement part and we were back in business.
A completely professional service call. I would highly recommend this company.

We purchased a house that had an older valor fireplace which obviously had not worked for many years. Jeremy first checked the model to ensure he could get parts (which would save a service call charge) then he cleaned it and had it working in one short service call. We were very happy with his service and would recommmend him.

Jeremy had installed this fireplace a several years ago. For some reason the pilot light had gone out and using the remote to restart it wasn't working. I booked an appointment with Jeremy (Natural Gas Techs) and he dropped me a note suggesting I try changing the batteries. I didn't think that would work as I could see sparks near the pilot and hear and see the gas valve open and close when I used the remote but I did as he suggested. All of a sudden things were working again.
Saved me an appointment and got me up and running again just when things got cold.

This is our second time calling and purchasing a product from The Fireplace Doctor. Jeremy fixed a broken fireplace and serviced two others. He returned my call quickly and showed up when promised. The cost was very reasonable, made clear in advance, and his expertise showed. He was happy to provide me with an education on how these devices work, which was invaluable. Great service, great price, would recommend to anyone and will definitely call him again when needed.

After our technician told us there was a part on our fireplace that was discontinued and we needed a new fireplace, we thought we would get another opinion and called Jeremy Graat.
Jeremy took the time to go outside and look at the vent of the fireplace which is where he found the problem.
Not only was he very professional, but he was also very knowledgeable and very thorough in his explanation of what the problem was and how he was going to fix it

Emailed Jeremy regarding replacing my mercury switch assembly in my 20 year old fireplace.Fireplace has been working intermittently over the last couple years so after searching internet for possible cause came to the conclusion that it must bevthe mercury switch. This switch is no longer used for safety reasons ,the replacement cost was around $675 + hst. Jeremy came over performed some tests and told me my wall thermostat wasnt compatible with my fireplace( purchased thermostat at a reputable dealer). So instead of an expensive mercury switch replacement all I needed was a $40 compatible thermostat.
Highly recommend Jeremy, its hard to find an honest tradesman who won't sell you parts or service you don't need, Jeremy is an honest and very knowledgeable tradesman, and I won't hesitate to call him if my fireplace acts up in the future.
