Bad estimating, good work by the sub-contractor
Their subcontractor (because yes that's what they do) does a good job on decks. The star goes to him. He even deserves more.
But where BJR goes very wrong is in the pricing. Because before they get the job finished, once they have started demolishing what was there before or have started placing the foundation, they come back to say, oh we forgot this or this and we need to add to the estimate.
In the start, they underbid everyone else, but in the end, they are above the others.
They did this to us by not including something that was discussed multiple times in the tender. We don't contract for decks every week so we didn't notice that the skirting was not there!
They did it to my in-laws who just wanted to widen their driveway by 3 feet. Andrew mis-measured by 6 feet!!!! "Did you want your asphalt to go all the way to the curb?" He asked them! They said no to the additional cost and the job was poorly done in the end and my father in law had to repair the existing driveway.
And we know they did it to others!!! Speak up and comment here. They should not be allowed to continue doing this to people. It is dishonesty pure and simple.
