Let's Get Moving Canada

Great service. The team was very disciplined and took great care in handling our furniture. Roban, gagndeeo and arpandeep were so patient. They moved very quickly and ensured that every single item was moved with care and consideration. Definitely will use let's get moving in the future.

On March 27th Lets Get Moving packed my belongings & on March 28th they moved me.

The packers were very nice people as were most of the movers. But overall I found the level of service appallingly bad!

I've hired packers/movers before although it's been a while (last time was Jan 2006). But, the packers got my hanging clothes to the new place neatly as opposed to wrinkled beyond belief (and I have a high tolerance for wrinkles). This is probably because in my 2006 move the company packed using wardrobe type boxes for hanging items & this team threw things willy nilly into medium sized boxes that were way too small for hanging clothes.

They also kept asking me to confirm (on moving day no less) that everything had been packed when a lot of stuff was not yet in boxes. Probably the lowest point was when one employee justified their failure to pack some of the contents of my home by the fact that they were just "empty boxes" (they were decorative xmas boxes that I had stored in a cupboard).

When we got to the new house, they kept putting things in the wrong place. For example, there were boxes that i had packed labelled basement that they left in the garage and boxes they had packed that were labelled kitchen that ended up in the basement.

They were unable to put the master bed back together. They asked me to tell them where the hardware was to attach headboard & when i didnt have a clue, they just didn't bother to attach headboard to bed frame.
Notwithstanding the fact that it had been attached at my old house & they had been the ones to dismantle it (several days later hardware hasnt shown up & headboard remains unattached).

A new neighbour asked them to move their truck because they were blocking their driveway. They didnt want to move their truck away from the neighbours driveway until I had moved my car from its legal spot. This was after i explained that i didnt know where my keys were. I literally had to shout at them that they were breaking the law by blocking a driveway before they would move their truck (I was totally mortified before my new neighbours, who very graciously acknowledged that they understood my frustration & were also quite unimpressed by this attitude).

So, when i was asked to pay in full before trucks had been completely off loaded & things that had been removed clearly werent in right room or (still have no idea were my mugs & most of my kitchen plates are, but i suspect they must be in my basement boxes), i refused because i had no confidence that they would complete the job in a basically competent manner. They called their supervisor, who not only insisted that I pay in full, but reprimanded me for being harsh with the movers. I paid in full.

And the team did off load. But things are still disportionally chaotic. For example, I have a plant stand that was on the living room of my old house. And the frame of the stand was correctly left in the living room of my new place. But the 4 glass shelves for the stand have yet to turn up. There are only 2 boxes of items for my living room and neither contain the shelves. There are also several items from my old master bedroom that were just plopped down in my living room.

I wish i could say that i have described all the issues, but I could go on & on.

I feel like i paid you a reasonable amount, but didnt get a fair service in return.

If any "upgrade" suggestions had been made I certainly would have considered paying a bit more to get what i needed to have as smooth a move as possible (e.g. if I had been told i could only get wardrobe boxes if i paid more). But no upgrades were mentioned so my expectations were based on what i had paid in 2006 for the kind of service i received then. And I was swayed by the fact that the company had won so many awards and had good reviews. I really thought i was paying for good service.

i shared my experience with Let's Get Moving 2 days ago and no response yet. But i suspect that i will continue to get crickets. I dont know how to account for my experience since it seems that most reviews are positive. But i am extremely disappointed and think that i made a very poor choice.

THEY LOST EVERYTHING I OWNED!!! Although completely their fault, they have treated me incredibly poorly and still have NOT PAID ME COMPENSATION, even after LEGAL PROCEEDINGS have culminated in a judgment in my favor.

Would you risk using this company when they could loose your possessions? I would suggest completely avoiding this company, not only because of the loss of my belongings, but also because of the way that they have treated me in the aftermath. If I could give negative stars, I would.

During the COVID pandemic, I was overseas caring for my mother who was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Given the length of treatment I decided to stay to care for her, which meant that I was locked down far away from home. After much consideration, the best financial plan was to move out of my apartment, hiring a company to pack up, move and store all of my possessions. After seeing their website, and the many awards, I thought that Let's Get Moving Canada would be great - I have never been more wrong!

Let's Get Moving Canada told me that due to an error they had 'disposed' of EVERYTHING I OWNED - two large containers worth. This included, but wasn't limited to, family heirlooms, items from my deceased father, items from my deceased grandmother and grandfather. They lost my laptop and my backup drives, containing all of my photos from before 2018 - all of my memories. They lost my original family photos and travel memorabilia. All of the above is completely priceless and irreplaceable. Let's Get Moving also lost all of my clothes - except the small suitcase I traveled with. They lost original artwork, jewelry, furniture, shoes, bedding, crockery, cutlery - everything that made it a home.

Use any other moving/storage company you can! Pick a company who values your possessions and values how they treat their customers.

I moved from Markham to Toronto and used Let's Get Moving. They were professional and courteous.

BEWARE OF LET'S GET MOVING. THEY ARE DECEPTIVE. THEY ARE KNOWN FOR UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES, EXTORTION, AND USING INTIMIDAION TO HAVE INNOCENT CONSUMERS SIGN POORLY WRITTEN AND UNENFORCEABLE CONTRACTS. I HIRED THEM FOR A MOVE ON DECEMBER 31, 2023 FROM ONE CONDO IN MARKHAM TO A CONDO IN SCARBOROUGH, LITERALLY AN 11 MINUTE DRIVE AWAY. THREE MEN TOOK NEARLY 12 HOURS FOR A SLOW, INCOMPETENT, UNPROFESSIONAL "SERVICE." THEY CHARGED AN EXORBITANT RATE OF $2,500, ONLY TO LEAVE MY HOME IN COMPLETE DISARRAY, AND DRIVE OFF WITH MOST OF MY BELONGINGS WHILE ATTEMPTS FOR PAYMENT OF THEIR RIDICULOUS INVOICE WERE MADE. THEY FORCED ME TO SIGN A POORLY WRITTEN 'SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT' AND DECEIVED US ABOUT REFUNDING A CREDIT CARD CHARGE. THEY DAMAGED OUR FURNITURE AND DID NOT EVEN ASSEMBLE ANYTHING. THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM TAKING PROPERTY FROM WOMEN AND CHILDREN. I HAVE ADDED PHOTOS OF HOW THEY LEFT OUR UNIT.

Very happy customer here! It was very fast. They called before they came like they said they would. They arrived in the time frame I was told. And they were done within about 4 hours. I was also very impressed with the fact they do local moves. I moved less than 2 km. Very few moving companies do that! They were very careful with my belongs (and I have a lot of antiques). Nothing broke or even got scratched!n Very very pleased and I will be keeping your name in my contact list for next time.
