Interior storm sumps were normal procedure on older homes and we often see them in New Westminster and Vancouver. In hindsight, it didn't make a lot of sense to direct water into the basement as it usually came with humidity, odur and increased the opportunity for potential floods. Moving your sump outside and de-commissioning your old sump is now part of the plumbing code on drain tile replacements. Thank you for your review and kind words about our crew. While onsite we noted a very saturated section of the back and side yard, even during the summer months. We asked the homeowner to contact the City to check the water line and see if a leak was contributing to the problem, but the City said all was good. We arrived in the morning to start our yard drainage project, but quickly found the culprit. A leaking water line had been saturating the lawn and progressively getting worse. Our crew of 6, repaired the section of water line and installed the yard drainage in one day. From all of us at Drainrock, we thank you for your review.

Drain tile service can often be the solution to perimeter drainage problems and even water ingress. I would suggest that 95% of homes drainage problems are solved by a thorough cleaning. It is the 5% that require more and in this case, one of them. Coming to an educated decision about your drainage system can be done by excavating a couple of test holes, hydro flushing and video inspecting. The test holes allow us to check the elevation of pipe in relation to the floor slab, the saturation of gravel and the condition of the pipe. Your homes drainage system as originally installed, had little to no gravel above the pipe and over time, the clay soil had clogged the perforations preventing water from entering the pipe. We are extremely lucky to have a great crew that is led by our 3 sons who we are very proud of.
