I've been noticing a loud "bang" whenever I flush the toilet and the water stops flowing into the tank. I had another bathroom remodelled and asked that contractor if this was water hammer. He didn't think so, so we left it. The problem persisted so I finally broke down and called The Great Plumbing Co. based on reviews on Homestars. I got an appointment quickly, Jeff arrived on time and identified and fixed the problem quickly by installing a water hammer arrestor valve. All quiet now! While he was here, I also got him to replace a valve on the pipe leading to my outside faucet which has been difficult to open and close for years.
