I needed an entry way cabinet and surface and I came to Matthew with drawings. Matthew improved on them significantly and then created a piece that blended seamlessly with my home and was executed and installed flawlessly. Throughout the process Matthew was the consummate professional. He communicated well, was on time, on budget, and overdelivered in terms of final product. If I ever needed any cabinetry or built ins done in the future, Matthew would be the only person I would call.

Matthew Tormey is an exceptionally skilled carpenter/cabinet maker, and his craftsmanship shows in everything he designs and builds. From beginning to end, Matt demonstrated he is a creative, responsive, reliable and talented professional. He took into consideration my ideas, made excellent suggestions, and incorporated changes in a collaborative process. The design was functional and beautiful - and was compatible with the existing wood, character and features of our older home. Matt uses excellent quality materials - all-wood, self-closing drawers and cupboards, high-end hardware and finishes. Matt efficiently demolished our old closet, constructed the components in his workshop prior to installing them on-site. The doors, drawers and shelves are installed precisely, work perfectly and are beautiful. Before hiring Matt, I checked out several commercial closet companies. While the cost may be slightly higher the workmanship and materials are superb and well worth the investment. I highly recommend Matthew Tormey

Matthew crafted the most spectacular custom unit for our mudroom (a newly enclosed front porch). He built us a cabinet unit with open shelves, wraparound stained bench seating, a custom coat rack and did the crown moulding work. He was excellent from start to finish, taking our initial ideas and improving on them, and enhancing visualization with highly polished design documents. Once work commenced, he was extremely efficient while paying close attention to every detail, angle and measurement. He was also able to fix up a disastrous custom build in our family room we had ordered from a different less capable woodworker, and improved it so much we can actually enjoy the space now. We are ecstatic about the finished mudroom result, the only problem being it is now the nicest room in our house. We'd endorse Matthew to anyone doing a custom build, and recommend getting on his calendar very early as his skills are in high demand.

We have fantastic new pantry cabinets and library shelving thanks to this company. Working with Matthew was a pleasure: he kept us up to date on timing and met his date commitments. He guided us in some design decisions about lighting and layout which we are very happy with. He also kept the work area tidy and dust-free throughout the work, so there was minimal disruption to the normal use of our kitchen while he was installing the new pantry, and our living space while the shelving was installed.

Matthew is truly incredible at what he does. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. He took our ideas that were originally only sketches on paper and brought them to life. He built us a custom ski cabinet that is not only highly functional for our gear, but also doubles as a work of art! He also masterfully created an understair bench/cabinet to hide our sump pump. Additionally, Matthew transformed our dining room shelving unit with the look of a built-in that had been there all along. The entire process was straightforward from start to finish, Matthew kept us informed throughout all the different stages - overall he was such a pleasure to work with. We couldn’t be happier and will definitely be recommending his work to others.

Matthew made built-in bookshelves with lower cabinets and replaced our mantle. They look amazing and Matthew was such a pleasure to work with. Was so happy with the result and the whole process was so smooth. Matthew keep us up to date on our project and had everything installed in less than 2 days!

Matthew installed an absolutely beautiful built in entertainment unit/shelves in our home. He delicately designed it to match our exiting trim work and mantle, and it is complete with doors to enclose our TV.
