Duct Sealing

I went into the Fall Home Show looking for solutions to make my sunroom more efficient. Part of the issue was the airflow coming out of the 4 ducts in the room. The concept of sealing the ducts had crossed my mind, so Aeroseal GTA's booth caught our attention. This is where we met Joe.

From the initial chat I could tell that Joe was not a salesman - he knew everything about the product - from the installation to the physics involved, he was able to answer all of our many questions, and he was incredibly professional. Without much hesitation, we called Joe back a few days later and booked an appointment.

On the day of the appointment, Joe and Brad showed up on time with a smile and immediately got to it. I actually enjoyed having them in the house - they explained everything that was happening, and upon inspecting the duct work and our situation, they set reasonable expectations. Joe was able to assess everything from the position of the ducts to the condition of the furnace.

I felt no hesitation in having them go throughout the house to prepare each duct for the procedure. They were neat and courteous. They put protection down for all finished areas (I have a finished basement).

When the sealing started, we immediately saw one of our major problems: we had 700+ CFM of leakage. After a few minutes, the product began to speak for itself - we noticed a dramatic decline in the lost CFMs (their software tracks this in real time). Less than an hour later, they had reduced the leakage to 59 CFMs. All throughout the process, Joe and Brad were a pleasure to be around - they even helped out with some related tasks my basement contractor failed to finish, and the time just flew.

I immediately noticed the result in my better-performing ducts. The toilet paper test on their website is true!

As for the sunroom, two of the ducts showed major gains. For the other two, the airflow isn't where I'd like it to be, but it is an improvement over what it was before: practically non-existent.

I was *very* pleased with the overall result, and I truly believe we can feel the difference already!

The true test will be what happens in the middle of the winter, but I feel better knowing we did this - that was a 90%+ reduction in leakage, and well worth every penny.

Thank you Aeroseal GTA for all of your help!

Duct Sealing

Worth every penny. Prior to getting ducts sealed, was getting very weak airflow to all upstairs bedrooms. In summer lower levels were freezing, upper levels stifling, running AC almost 24/7. After getting ducts sealed, can hear and feel the air BLASTING out of all the upper level ducts. Temperatures are now even throughout the whole house, and the air condition needs to run only a fraction of the time it did before. Wish I had known about this sooner!!

Duct Sealing

We heard the Aeroseal process 2 years ago but thought it was a gimmick and was unsure it really worked. As we visited the Homeshow in March 2015, we ran into Aeroseal GTA. Their display clearly showed the outcome of the process. We were sold. Joe, Tibo and Brad showed up promptly on the agreed date. They explained more thoroughly the steps involved in and during the process. They even did some duct work which was an extra. They were thorough, efficient, cleaned up and presented themselves professionally. In addition, the process clearly showed the improvement in the duct efficiency and we were impressed. To date, some 2 months later, the air conditioning seems to be more effective in cooling our homes. Can’t wait to see the difference this heating season. We would highly recommend this team.

Service, Product

The crew was very courteous, considerate, and professional right from the start. They were respectful of my home, ensuring they rolled out the plastic drops for floors and even covered our high end electronics so it wouldn't get damaged.

The work is simply amazing. Our duct was leaking 29.2% prior to any work done and after they sealed it the leakage dropped to only 2%. It's incredible how much warmer the house feels! The guys even took the time to thoroughly answer all the questions I had. I even snuck in a few questions not related to aeroseal and they were more than happy to give me tips and advice. These guys are genuinely nice very knowledgeable when it comes to homes. I would definitely recommend these guys to others.

The money was very well spent and totally worth it! Thanks guys!

HVAC Improvment

I don't do this often.... in fact I don't think that I ever have. But this is worth a "share"....

My friend (Tibo) is a great guy, and a pretty darn smart guy too. Not only is he an engineer, he is also a business owner with a pretty amazing business.

I was so impressed with the story and the time spent educating me that I had 2 reactions.....1 - anger that I didn't think of it first :), and 2 - that I need to check this out to see if it's for real.

Like EVERY house in Toronto we had one or two rooms that are either too warm in the summer or too cold in the winter... the result of seemingly barely any air coming out of the dang flipping' duct! The boys came hooked up the gear, pressurized the ducts and measured exactly how much air flow I was loosing (not making it to the duct outlets). In total it was the equivalent of hole of approx.. 4sq Ft in our ductwork. We didn't have one massive hole, this was just the effect of all the little holes in all the joints of the duct work.

Here's what this really means... our furnace/ac runs longer and harder to heat or cool the home. Not only is this a huge waste of money, it means that my equipment won't last as long because it has to run longer on each cycle.... which is also very expensive to replace ($5K-$10K)

I'm not even joking.... within an hour it was all fixed. Tibo had nearly every hole sealed with a patented technology (it's pretty cool actually) and we've been comfy and cozy ever since.... and it's been just about a year now.

If you have the same frustration, or would just like to save money :), then I would 100% recommend giving Tibo a call. He's not a sales guy.... he's a nerdy engineer (I think he'll take that in a good way.... that's how I meant it :)) with a great company with a passion to tell you the story.

I don't get anything for this. I just thought it was worth the share. Trust me, it's good stuff.

Duct Sealing

I heard about this product through the media and at the Home Show. I called and left a message after hours and Tibo returned the call with in about 30 minutes. He provided an estimate based on the number of vents and scheduled the job for a time that was convenient to me. We have been living in this home for 5 years and have always had a problem with the temperature in the bedroom above the garage. We had the ceiling sealed with spray foam insulation 3 years ago and the results were not as good as we expected. I always knew that the issue was partially due to poor air flow as this room is the furthest from the furnace.
Tibo and his team arrived as arranged and immediately put down drop sheets and set up the equipment. The work took about 5 hours and on completion i was given a print out showing the results of the sealing. It is amazing. I have over the years been sealing the ducts with foil tape but the the results obtained with aeroseal are amazing. The strength of the air coming out the vents in the room is fantastic. I cannot believe the difference that it has made.
Tibo and his crew were a pleasure to work with and i would highly recommend them.

Duct Sealing

Dear Tibo,

I would like to thank you and your team at Aeroseal GTA for the excellent work done at my home. Your services were exceptional. Your team sealed the ductwork resulting in an immediate improvement in the airflow to my third floor and in my children’s rooms. Your team was also able to identify the presence of a disconnected run which I was able to have fixed.

The scientific approach your team took to seal the home was impressive. The computer aided graphs indicating residual air leaking due to improper ductwork confirmed the suspicions I had been living with for years.

My home is now significantly more comfortable than before. I have not had to use secondary heating and air conditioning units to supplement my forced air HVAC system due to your excellent work.

I have recommended your service to friends and family and will continue to do so.

Thank You,

Anthony
