I had issues with water entering my house from an unknown source around a window. I had a lot of different contractors come by to give their opinion and estimates. I was prepared to do a huge job and spend a lot of money to fix the problem when I had Steve come by. He has good experience with investigating water entry and he told me I didn’t need to do what the other contractors were suggesting and instead recommended a really good solution that cost a 1/3 of the price. We had Steve replace all the windows sills on the front of our house with solid single piece limestone and he removed a large section of bricks below two of the windows, replaced water damaged sheathing, put new house wrap, adding through wall flashing, installed blue skin in all the right places using glue and replaced the brick matching the colour of our existing brick almost perfectly. He completed the job in a very timely manner and did an amazing clean up after the job. We were extremely pleased with his work and in fact had him come back and replace the window sills on the rest of the house. On top of doing things the right way he is very professional and also a great person to talk to. He regularly follows up with me to find out how things are going. I would recommend Clayson Construction to anyone – good work at a fair price from a trustworthy person who genuinely cares.

Steve did an excellent job from start to finish. He gave a very through quote on the job we wanted to get done. Clearly outlined the various possible options along with their pros and cons. Then he worked with us to determine which option would be best for us. As for completing the job, he did it in a timely and professional manner. I would definitely come back to Steve for any further jobs on regarding the house.

We were very pleased with the overall experience with Clayson Construction from start to finish. Steve the owner was quick to respond to my initial message for a quote, came to the house when he said he was going to, provided a fair and reasonable quote, and most importantly did a wonderful job of replacing 2 crumbling brick sills with limestone sills. It's obvious that Steve takes pride in his work and would rather do the job properly than to rush or cut corners - something that is a rare find these days. Excellent workmanship. We highly recommend this company and wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.

Steve was timely courteous and took the time to explain to me different options. I had called 6 masons previous to this and they told me what I wanted couldn't be done. Steve explained possible options was on budget and even assisted with setting up a subcontractor when needed.

Steve provided me a quote to do an assortment of repairs related to water damaged brickwork and concrete foundation cracks. I felt the price was reasonable especially considering some of the repairs turned out to be more work than we originally thought. I was concerned that there may be an up charge because of these unknowns, however the final price was exactly what he originally quoted, a great relief to me.
The workmanship was excellent and he was able to match my bricks perfectly. There is no way to tell the new bricks from the original.
Steve is very skilled in brick restoration as well as concrete repair. I had two smaller foundation cracks repaired and one very large concrete porch repair done by Steve. I was very impressed by the workmanship and his ability to tie the repairs back into the original concrete.
I truly enjoyed working with Steve; he is honest and up front in his communications with me. I will be using his services again in the spring for some related projects that I wasn't able to get to this year. Thanks for everything Steve!

We live in a fairly new home (less than 10 yrs) in Bowmanville.

Over the past year, in very specific conditions (strong east wind and rainfall) we would experience water leaking into our house and struggled to identify the source(s).

After a couple visits from a great, honest roofer (and one more who wasn't so great), we had ruled out the roof as the issue, and through Homestars we found Steve from Clayson Construction. Steve's experience and knowledge allowed him to very quickly pinpoint where the potential problem areas might be. He and his partner were able to get started very quickly, and over a few days had addressed all the potential issues, plus a couple he found while they were working.

They were both extremely friendly, professional guys and were great at ensuring our deck, etc were covered up for protection, and cleaned up at the end of every day. Steve even took pictures throughout the job which he used to explain what he was seeing and doing - that was really helpful.

The quality of their workmanship was top notch, and we were relieved to see that the past few heavy rainfalls have not produced any more water inside our house, so our hats off to Steve for being a master of his craft --- thank you!!!

Steve and his team were incredible to work with and very professional. We just purchased our first home and needed repair to our rear sliding door concrete sill. After commencing work we discovered our structural supporting sill plate and rim boards under our double sliding door was completely dry rot. Steve went the extra mile and replaced all of the dry rot with new material at reasonable cost. Extremely pleased with the finished product. Would definitely hire him again and refer him to all of our friends and family.
